Mad Cool Festival 2022 Recap: Five Days of Sunshine and Songs in Spain’s Capital City

It’s been three years since Madrid has been able to host Mad Cool Festival, the multi-day music festival in the Valdefuentes neighborhood of Spain’s capital city. With the event finally making a grand return in 2022 from Wednesday, July 6th to Sunday, July 11th, not even temperatures crossing over 100 degrees each day could keep the crowds from flocking to the grounds. One thing about Mad Cool is that it very much lives up to its name; the crowd for the fest, incredibly welcoming and friendly, really and truly loves music, and the dynamic lineup always boasts something for everyone — especially this year. Indie fans were able to delight in rising bands and solo artists, while fans of legacy acts like Metallica showed up in droves. Pop fans weren’t left out either; each day offered at least...

Rage Against the Machine fans waited more than a decade for their favorite musical molotov cocktail to hit the road again. And after kicking off their reunion tour on Saturday in Alpine Valley, Wisconsin, there was no way incendiary shouter/rapper Zack de la Rocha was going to let a little foot sprain deter him from serving up the fiery goods to a packed house at Chicago’s United Center during Monday night’s (July 11) second show of the Public Service Announcement Tour. Zack de la Rocha apparently injured his leg during Rage Against the Machine’s concert in Chicago on Monday. According to Consequence correspondent Allen Halas, de la Rocha sustained the injury four songs into the band’s main set at Chicago’s United Center. Rage Against The Machine in Fine, Typically Fierce Form During First Show in 11 Years

It’s been a decade since lyrical bomb throwers Rage Against the Machine took the stage together. But on Saturday night (July 9) at the sold-out Alpine Valley Music Theater in East Troy, Wisconsin the reunited radical rockers appeared to show no signs of rust as they treated the crowd of 30,000-plus to a fierce set of classics spiked with their patented mix of take-no-prisoners messaging. Kid Rock, Who Swears He’s Not Homophobic, Posts Homophobic Fourth of July Meme

We hold these truths to be self-evident: That Kid Rock will say something stupid and hateful. This time around, the bigoted rap-rocker, who swears he’s not homophobic, shared a homophobic meme to celebrate the Fourth of July. Rock posted the Kermit the Frog-themed meme to Donald Trump’s Truth Social on June 30th. “If you’re anti-gun, you don’t get to celebrate the 4th of July,” the meme begins. “You would have never fought back. Enjoy your pride month. Pussy.” The dig at LGTBTQ+ Pride comes after a video surfaced last June of Rock hurling a homophobic slur at fans who were recording him during a concert. Shortly after, the artist addressed the backlash by saying the same slur again. “If Kid Rock using the word f**got offends you, good chance you are one,” he said, before assuring us he has...
