Foo Fighters Raise a Toast to Movie Debut With ‘Coors Almighty Light’ Brew

Foo Fighters are toasting their first feature film with a limited-edition beer. The Foos’ comedy horror Studio 666 is set to open in theaters this Friday (Feb. 25), with a storyline that could’ve been shaped by boozy pub banter. In the film, the Rock And Roll Hall of Famers decamp for recording sessions in what turns out to be a haunted house. Bad move. Evil things are at play. Dave Grohl is possessed, and all hell breaks loose, threatening life, limb and the album project, Medicine at Midnight. To celebrate the cinematic release, Grohl’s favorite drop, Coors Light, introduces the Coors Almighty Light, a special brew made with Rocky Mountain water that, reps say, has been blessed by a spiritual guru. And, who knows, might even contain special demon-beating properties. Explore See latest vi...

Tool Stop Show to Help Fan in Distress: Watch

Don’t let Kanye hear this one. Maynard James Keenan stopped a Tool performance in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday night (February 22nd) to ensure medics could attend to a fan in distress. According to Rock Feed, fans alerted the singer to a member of the front row who appeared to be having a medical emergency, prompting Keenan to stop performing and ask the audience to make way for medics to reach the fan. During the intermission, the singer bantered with the crowd (“Woke up this morning with a sore throat and a little bit of a cough… Anything going around I should know about?”) and thanked Tool’s fans for attending the show. Watch the moment take place below. Many artists have made a point to assure audiences they care about fan safety in light of the Astroworld tragedy, in which ten people d...

Dave Grohl Discusses His Hearing Loss: “I’ve Been Reading Lips for 20 Years”

All those years playing in Foo Fighters and Nirvana have caught up with Dave Grohl. During his recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show, the 53-year-old rock veteran discussed his hearing loss and how it affects his life both on and off the stage. “If you were sitting next to me right here at dinner, I wouldn’t understand a fucking word you were saying to me the whole fucking time,” Grohl said, motioning about a foot away from his left ear. “There’s no way. In a crowded restaurant — that’s the worst.” Up until mask-wearing became the norm, however, Grohl’s hearing loss didn’t pose too much of an issue in his day-to-day life. He insisted it’s “not that bad,” but now that mask-wearing is the norm, Grohl has had a harder time conversing in public. Advertisement Related Video “The ...

Sorry Not Sorry, It’s Foo Fighters Week

It is a truth universally acknowledged that if Dave Grohl moves even one finger, we sure as hell are going to write about it here at Consequence. Foo Fighters is the second most-written-about artist in the history of this site. Basically, we write about Grohl & Co. almost daily; the difference this time is that we’ve decided to formalize it as an actual week. Why are we like this, you may ask? Well, the running joke around here is that Grohl and his band keep the lights on, and we say that with the utmost gratitude and respect to that dude and his band. (Thank you for everything, Foos.) He makes headlines for doing good deeds, in addition to the usual rockstar stuff, and thus it is our jobs as humble scribes to give him attention on a regular basis. Billy Joel’s Map of New York City: A Virtual Tour of the Piano Man’s Discography

Though a Long Island native, New York City is Billy Joel’s home. In fact, you could almost say Madison Square Garden is his residence, as he played a record-setting 73 consecutive monthly shows at the legendary venue between January 2014 and February 2020, a streak only interrupted by the pandemic. But the city is more than just the place he lives: It’s been the soul of much of his iconic discography over the last 50 years. Whether taking a Greyhound along the Hudson River, strolling The Village in tie dye jeans, or working Mr. Cacciatore’s down on Sullivan Street, Joel imbued numerous songs with the landscape of New York. His characters have cruised the Miracle Mile and Bedford-Stuy, while familiar locations like Astor Place and Mercer Street have appeared on his album covers. There’s har...

Dave Grohl Planning to Release Thrash Metal Album Next Week

Dave Grohl is planning to release a full-length thrash metal album, and it’ll likely arrive sometime in the next week. To coincide with the release of Foo Fighters’ new horror film, Studio 666, the band recorded music under the moniker Dream Widow. Grohl quietly released one of Dream Widow’s tracks, “March of the Insane,” earlier this week, but he says there’s an entire album’s worth of material on the way. Studio 666 follows Foo Fighters as they record their album, Medicine at Midnight, in a haunted mansion. As Grohl explained during an interview on The Howard Stern Show this week, Dream Widow’s music is a central plot point in the film. “I wind up finding this creepy basement. And I go into the basement, I find this tape by a band [Dream Widow] from 25 years ago that recorded there. And ...

During part of the conversation, The Boss questioned the Pearl Jam frontman about which bands and artists influenced his sound. “The stuff that got put in my blender, it started maybe, like, Jackson 5 when I was a kid and then [The] Beatles… growing up, and then The Who took over big time,” Vedder explained, before adding, “And then my friend,” gesturing to Springsteen. (“Ah, grazie,” the legend replied with a chuckle.)
