‘Excellent’, ‘Top class’: Some Man United fans react to 24-year-old’s display vs West Ham United

A selection of Manchester United fans praised the performance of Scott McTominay after he bagged the winning goal in the FA Cup fifth round tie against West Ham United. The Red Devils commanded two-thirds of the possession over the entire cup tie at Old Trafford and it was a frustrating night with very few scoring chances. McTominay came off the bench to replace Nemanja Matic in the 73rd minute of the game and he eventually made the difference in added extra-time. The Scotland international has scored some valuable goals this term and found the back of the net in the 97th minute after a smart lay-off from Marcus Rashford in the box. That proved the only goal of the entire contest and ensured that United reached the last eight of the competition for the seventh season in a row. McTominay’s ...

Sportslens View The 2018-19 Champions League winners could do with some quality additions to their attack given their recent struggles in front of goal, and it is not a surprise that their recruitment department feels that the Leeds man is worth being watched in the coming months. Liverpool scouts would have run the rule over Raphinha against Crystal Palace last night, and there is no doubt that they would have been left impressed with what they saw. The Brazilian joined Leeds from Ligue 1 outfit Rennes for around £17 million last summer, and he has since established himself as a regular under head coach ...

Report shares what PGMOL told Mike Dean after sending Soucek off

According to The Sun, referee Mike Dean has been told by his bosses at Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) that he was wrong to send West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek off in Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Fulham. The Czech Republic international was dismissed in the closing stages of the game for an elbow on Aleksandar Mitrovic, but it was clearly unintentional. However, VAR and Dean believed otherwise and everyone, including the Fulham striker, was left surprised by the decision. The red card would have seen the West Ham midfielder miss Tuesday’s FA Cup fifth round clash against Manchester United and the league games against Sheffield United and Tottenham Hotspur, but the three-match ban is expected to be lifted as the Hammers are set to win their appeal. Soucek has been ...

‘So good’, ‘Special player’: Some Man City fans hail attacker’s display vs Liverpool

Some Manchester City fans on Twitter have hailed the performance of Phil Foden during the club’s comfortable 4-1 Premier League win over Liverpool on Sunday. The Cityzens headed into the Reds clash on the back of a nine-match winning league streak, but they had an average first-half where Ilkay Gundogan missed a penalty. Gundogan made amends within four minutes of the restart as he scored from the rebound of Foden’s shot which was saved by Alisson. Mohamed Salah brought the Reds back into the game by scoring from the penalty spot after the hour mark, but the Cityzens soon fought back to take the lead. A poor pass from Alisson gifted Bernardo Silva with possession and he squared the ball to Gundogan for an easy tap-in. Moments later, Alisson made another blunder by passing the ball straight...
