SLANDER Pull the Plug on Inaugural Starbase Music Festival Due to COVID-19 Surge

The outer space-themed Starbase music festival has officially crashed to Earth. Starbase’s proprietors—electronic duo SLANDER—had revealed the Charleston festival back in June before unveiling a stellar lineup a month later featuring Alison Wonderland, NGHTMRE, and San Holo, among other dance music superstars. Now, Derek Andersen and Scott Land of SLANDER have taken to social media to share a statement announcing the cancellation of this year’s inaugural Starbase due to the impact of COVID-19. “Due to COVID-19 currently reaching peak levels in South Carolina, with new cases and hospitalizations at the highest level ever recorded, we have decided that now is not the time to have a music festival in the area,” the statement reads. “We have made this de...

A track so nice, they had to remix it twice. Back in October 2019 SLANDER and Dylan Matthew released a monster remix package for their single “Love Is Gone,” tapping six producers to rework the future bass anthem. Kompany, Crystal Skies and more put their signature touches on the track, taking it to new heights as it rumbled through the festival scene at the time. SLANDER and Matthew have now announced another “Love Is Gone” bundle, which is primed to be even more transformative thanks to a high-profile entourage of remixers. Taiwan reports largest incursion yet by Chinese air force

Twenty-eight Chinese air force aircraft, including fighters and nuclear-capable bombers, entered Taiwan’s air defence identification zone (ADIZ) on Tuesday, the island’s government said, the largest reported incursion to date. While there was no immediate comment from Beijing, the news comes after the Group of Seven leaders issued a joint statement on Sunday scolding China for a series of issues and underscored the importance of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, comments China condemned as “slander”.
