This year, the team at EDM.com is proud to publish four installments of “Best of 2020” coverage: Industry Leaders, Performances, Music Producers, and Songs. With no venues to perform at in 2020, it seemed at times as if artists simply blindfolded their eyes, threw a dart at a map, and travelled to places to perform—locations that are usually pipe dreams. However, due to the dogged fury of COVID-19 and the surge of streaming, these pie-in-the-sky destinations became the new norm for DJs who wanted to connect with fans in the absence of tours. Bass-heads have been chomping at the bit to get their hands on a mysterious Excision and SLANDER collaboration ever since it was debuted live at HiJinx Festival last year. On Friday, NGHTMRE and SLANDER hosted their very own digital event, Virtual Vibes Music Festival. In addition to the Gud Vibrations founders, fans got to headbang alongside SVDDEN DEATH, Wavedash, and Kraysh. During their headline set, the trio premiered a new song called “Fall Into Me” featuring frequent collaborator Dylan Matthew. The track was teased last week in a promotional post for the event and fans have been waiting for a deeper look ever since. Gud Vibrations label heads NGHTMRE and SLANDER took to social media last week to announce their debut virtual fest, Virtual Vibes Music Festival. The show has just begun, so strap in and prepare for six hours of bone-crushing bass and fresh sets from some of the best bass music acts around. The lineup for Virtual Vibes Music Festival features both NGHTMRE and SLANDER as well as Gud Vibrations favorites SVDDEN DEATH, Wavedash, and Kraysh. Ultra Returns to Taiwan Next Month with Alesso, Kayzo, SLANDER, More
Ultra is officially returning to Taiwan. The venerated dance music event brand has announced a Taiwanese “Road to Ultra” event on November 14th, 2020. True to Ultra fashion, organizers have tapped a stable of major electronic music artists to join them for the ride. Scheduled to perform at the momentous show in Taipei are Alesso, Kazyo, SLANDER, and Vini Vici, among others. According to a recent report by CNN, there has been only one suspected COVID-19 case linked to local transmission of the virus in Taipei since mid-April.
