In a new study conducted by OnlineRoulette.org, social media’s newest goliath has been shown to be an undeniably influential method of music discovery. TikTok‘s popularity has surged since the social media platform launched in 2016 and filled the void left by the dismantled short video service Vine (R.I.P.). While TikTok employs a slew of features to make users’ videos pop, it seems that now more than ever, the songs used to soundtrack those clips are among the most appealing aspects of the platform. The study surveyed nearly 1,000 TikTok users to gather data about the platform’s influence on music, and the results were unsurprisingly staggering. For instance, 55% of respondents said that TikTok has influenced their music taste and 47% believe that it’s ...

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has vowed to remove himself from all social media from tomorrow until platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram take more serious action against racism and other abuses. Henry suggested that, as things stand, the companies are quicker to take action against copyright infringements than they are to the toxic behaviour poisoning the platforms. In a statement posted online, Henry said: “From tomorrow morning I will be removing myself from social media until the people in power are able to regulate their platforms with the same vigour and ferocity that they currently do when you infringe copyright. “The sheer volume of racism, bullying and resulting mental torture to individuals is too toxic to ignore. “There HAS to be some accountability. It is far too eas...

Source: NurPhoto / Getty All we want is an edit button, but Twitter is testing and giving us everything else but the one feature we are screaming for. Social media guru Jane Manchun Wong gave her followers a first glimpse of the feature in action showing the “Undo Send” timer that will give you some time to pull back that tweet you probably shouldn’t have hit send on in the first place. Now you won’t have a lot of time. The feature only gives you five seconds to decide if you really want that possibly problematic tweet or controversial hot take to hit timelines. Twitter ...
