Jurgen Klopp: Mo Salah is happy at Liverpool

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp moved to dismiss speculation over Egypt forward Mohamed Salah’s future saying on Thursday he is happy at the Premier League champions. The 28-year-old gave an interview in Spain last week in which he said Barcelona and Real Madrid were top clubs and “who knows what will happen in the future”. This led to speculation over whether he was seeking a new longer-term contract beyond 2023 or he was upset Trent Alexander-Arnold had been given the captain’s armband for the Champions League group match with Midtjylland. “We do not speak about deals — well, not with you (the media). Why should we start now?” said Klopp at his press conference ahead of Sunday’s game with struggling West Brom. “Mo is in a good mood, always a good moment. He is in really good shape and that ...

Can Anyone Actually Challenge Liverpool This Season?

Last season wasn’t much of a pulse-raiser for the neutrals. Throughout the campaign, Liverpool dominated the Premier League, with the biggest threat to their title ambitions being the COVID-19 pandemic. It was, all things considered, a bit boring. The beginning of the 2020/21 season gave the watching fans hope of an enthralling title race this time around. Jurgen Klopp’s men showed some signs of weakness after a humbling 7-2 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa, before star defender Virgil van Dijk picked up a season-ending injury. But alas, the Reds recovered in fine fashion. The last week has seen them secure a vital late win over Tottenham Hotspur, as well as a dominant 7-0 victory against Crystal Palace, leaving them four points clear at the top of the table on Christmas day. So, are we ...

Can Southampton sustain their push for a top six finish?

Manager Ralph Hasenhüttl has done an excellent job since taking over at Southampton and the Saints are now very much in the race for European qualification this season. Ralph Hasenhüttl’s team were quite impressive against Manchester City regardless of the result and they will have plenty of positives to carry into their next League game. Southampton will take on Fulham West Ham United in their next two Premier League games and this is a golden opportunity for them to climb up the table with consecutive wins. Although West Ham United have been an impressive form in the recent weeks, Southampton have what it takes to grind out a result against the Hammers. Southampton have...

‘Would be a great move’: Some Man Utd fans react to latest transfer rumour

Manchester United defender Brandon Williams has struggled for games this season, and he could leave the club on loan in January.  According to reports from the Telegraph, Southampton are keen to sign the England Under-21 full-back on loan next month. The 20-year-old was targeted by the Saints during the summer transfer window as well. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blocked the move at that time. United bolstered their left-back areas having signed Alex Telles from Porto on the deadline day in October. As a result, Williams has dropped further down the pecking order and has managed only six minutes of Premier League football so far. The Telegraph claims that United are open to letting Williams spend the second half of the season on loan. Newcastle United are also interest...

Tottenham and Wales forward Gareth Bale scored his 200th career goal as he equalised for Spurs against LASK in the Europa League. Gareth Bale scored his 200th career goal on Thursday after he netted for Tottenham in their Europa League clash with LASK. Wales international Bale had been stuck on 199 goals for club and country since he scored for Spurs in their 2-1 Premier League win over Brighton at the start of November. He went close to reaching the milestone during Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Ludogorets in the Europa League on November 26, but hit his 200th goal in Spurs’ next European outing. Bale’s landmark strike – his first away goal for Spurs in Europe since he scored a hat-trick at the San Siro against Inter in 2010 – came from the penalty spot, Bale restoring parity after Peter Micho...

The Saints have suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of United at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League. The home team were 2-0 up after 33 minutes. Jan Bednarek headed in the Saints’ first goal in the 23rd minute, and James Ward-Prowse doubled the advantage with a fantastic free kick. However, United launched a strong comeback in the second half and picked up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 3-2 win. Bruno Fernandes pulled one back for the visiting team on 59 minutes, and half-time substitute Cavani scored twice, first in the 74th minute and then in the second minute of injury time....

Predicted Man Utd XI vs Southampton: Solskjaer confirms midfield duo unlikely to play

Southampton host Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend and they will be looking to extend their fine run of form and pick up a win at home. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men have not lost in their last six league games and they will fancy their chances against an inconsistent Manchester United side. Manchester United have picked up some form after losing two consecutive matches and they are heading into this game on the back of three straight wins in all competitions. The Red Devils are tenth in the Premier League table right now with just 13 points from eight games and they will be desperate to climb up the table with a win here. Manchester United have drawn four of their last five matches against Southampton and it will be interesting to see if they can find a way to pick up all thre...
