According to TEAMtalk, Everton forward Theo Walcott has been offered to Newcastle United and Southampton. It has been reported that West Ham United and Crystal Palace have made contact with Premier League rivals Everton over the signing of the former Arsenal forward on loan in the summer transfer window. The report has claimed that intermediaries have spoken to Newcastle and Fulham, while Southampton have also been asked if they would like to sign the 31-year-old England international forward. Should Theo Walcott leave Everton? Walcott has not been able to make a huge impact at Everton, and given that he is 31 years of age, the Toffees may be looking at someone else to fill his role in the team. Newcastle and Southampton are established clubs in the Premier League, and Walcott started his ...

Report: Southampton identify 22-yr-old as Hojbjerg’s replacement, could cost just £7m

Southampton are keen on signing the Toulouse midfielder Ibrahim Sangare this summer. According to the Telegraph, the Premier League side are looking at the 22-year-old as a replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who joined Tottenham earlier. Apparently, the Saints have been tracking the Ivory Coast midfielder for a while now. Sangare is highly rated in France and despite Toulouse’ relegation, he managed to impress in Ligue 1 last season. He could prove to be a quality signing for the Saints. As per reports, the player could be available for a fee of around £7 million because of his contract situation. He has just nine months left on his deal with the French outfit and they cannot afford to lose him for free next summer. Selling him for a reasonable price now would be the smart move. Th...

Mourinho shares how Hojbjerg helped expose Southampton’s weaknesses before 5-2 win

Southampton were handed a 5-2 loss by Tottenham Hotspur at the St. Mary’s Stadium this afternoon in their second English Premier League game of the 2020-21 campaign. Despite going ahead through Danny Ings, the Saints were torn apart by Spurs, with Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min combining to devastating effects. The visitors’ five goals came from the Tottenham duo, with the South Korean scoring four while the England international assisted four and scored another. Former Southampton star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg returned to St. Mary’s for the first time since moving to Spurs this summer, and while he didn’t put in an extraordinary performance, he played a huge role in the visitors’ win pre-match. Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho revealed that the Denmark international helped expose some of the Saint...

Harry Kane sends message to Son following Spurs’ victory at St. Mary’s

Tottenham Hotspur secured a 5-2 win over Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium today, with Harry Kane and Heung-min Son putting in masterclass performances. The England international provided four assists for his South Korean teammate before grabbing Spurs’ fifth goal, and boss Jose Mourinho will hope they can keep combining to such a devastating effect going forward. It was the first time that Kane had registered four assists in a game, and it’s a great feat for someone who assisted just twice during the whole of 2019-20. Son was also scoring more than two goals in a Premier League game for Tottenham for the first time, and he has the brilliant Kane to thank for his four strikes. The winger attempted just four shots against Southampton, and he scored from each of his attempts to help Spur...

Report: Spurs make approach over striker, his club feel he’s as important as £75m star

According to The Daily Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with Southampton for England international striker Danny Ings but the Saints are hugely reluctant to sell their most important player this summer. Spurs are yet to table a firm bid, and it remains to be seen if they will have a chance of landing the former Liverpool striker. Ings ended last season with 22 Premier League goals, playing a huge role in helping Southampton hold on to their top-flight status following a shaky start to the campaign. They are hoping he will sign an extension soon, and they feel he is as important individually to the club as Virgil van Dijk. The Dutchman joined Liverpool for £75 million in January 2018, and Tottenham clearly won’t be able to tempt the Saints with anything close to such a juicy o...

Report: Tottenham Hotspur eye Southampton striker

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Danny Ings from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer transfer window, according to Football.London. It has been reported that Tottenham have ‘strong, long-held, interest’ in the former Liverpool striker. However, according to the report, the North London outfit believe that it would be ‘too difficult’ to pull off a deal to sign the 28-year-old England international. Southampton spell Ings joined Southampton from Liverpool in the summer of 2018 on a season-long loan deal. According to WhoScored, the England international striker made 23 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Saints during the 2018-19 season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in the process. The move was made permanent in the sum...

Premier League terminate £490 million TV deal in China

The Premier League has terminated its TV rights deal with China, its biggest overseas contract, leaving a huge hole in clubs’ finances. The deal with Chinese broadcaster PPTV was worth around £490m and had lasted only one of its three years. The conflict is said to have been around a fee of £160m that the Premier League was owed in March but did not receive. “The Premier League confirms that it has today terminated its agreements for Premier League coverage in China with its licensee in that territory,” a spokesman said on Thursday. “The Premier League will not be commenting further on the matter at this stage.” It is not known if the conflict is based purely on money or involves the escalating political tensions between China and the UK government. Boris Johnson announced in July that Hua...
