The 2022-23 NBA has been unexpected. Coming off of their championship win last season, the Golden State Warriors have not lived up to expectations. Currently, the Warriors sit in eighth place with a 20-21 record. In the West, the Los Angeles Lakers are not doing great themselves despite having star players like Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook working with one another. Kevin Durant Suffers Right MCL Sprain, Out for at Least Two Weeks
Kevin Durant is all too familiar with an isolated MCL sprain. Just last season, the Brooklyn Nets season plans for a championship were derailed when Durant suffered a similar injury. Earlier this week, the sharpshooter had undergone an MRI exam which diagnosed his right MCL sprain. In 2017, the injury saw KD out for over a month and last year, over six weeks. His absence was an obvious strain for the team, however it is expected that this most recent injury will require less recovery time due to the severity of the sprain. ESPN has reported that KD is expected to miss the next two weeks and will be re-evaluated again. This is significantly less time than the six week recovery he took last season. NBA has announced that Lebron James and Nets forward Kevin Durant currently top the All-Star votes for the Western and Eastern conferences respectively with more than 3 million votes each. Joining James and Durant are Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving who lead the votes in the guard positions.
