Designed by Canadian-born center Akil Thomas, the black hockey player crafted the important warmups with his label, ZALE. The special jerseys serve as Thomas’ push for black representation in hockey, a historically predominantly white sport. Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has announced he will sell England’s Chelsea Football Club. He has owned the team since 2003 and has overseen its Premier League rise in recent years. “As I have stated before, I have always taken decisions with the club’s best interest at heart. In the current situation, I have therefore taken the decision to sell the club, as I believe this is in the best interest of the club, the fans, the employees, as well as the club’s sponsors and partners,” Abramovich said in a statement on Chelsea FC’s website on Wednesday. WarnerMedia is officially dipping its toes into the live sports business with streaming service HBO Max. HBO Max has signed an eight-year, $200 million USD deal with the U.S. Soccer Federation. The deal will allow TNT/TBS and HBO Max to air 20 U.S. Women’s and Men’s National Team matches annually starting in 2023. According to The Hollywood Reporter of those matches will be able to be streamed on HBO Max and air on TV with the rest exclusive to the streaming platform.
