The UFC Threatened to Sue Francis Ngannou’s Agent for Talking to Jake Paul’s Advisor

The saga between Francis Ngannou and the UFC continues, as the heavyweight champion continues to openly voice his issues with the promotion. During Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour, Ngannou revealed that the UFC threatened to issue a lawsuit against his agent, Marquel Martin, for allegedly talking to a member of Jake Paul‘s camp about the possibility of Ngannou competing in boxing. Ngannou’s agent is said to have received the email from the UFC just a few hours before his UFC 270 championship bout against Ciryl Gane, which Ngannou won via unanimous decision. UFC President Dana White was noticeably absent at the fight and post-fight press conference. The person Martin was in contact with is Nakisa Bidarian, Jake Paul’s advisor, the co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions in partnership with Paul...

Skip Bayless Apologizes Publicly To Allen Iverson In ‘GQ’ Essay

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: JOHN MOTTERN / Getty As a co-host on the Undisputed sports talk show on FS1, Skip Bayless is known to be highly loud and opinionated. But in a recent magazine essay, he took the time to apologize to former NBA great Allen Iverson for his past comments about him. Bayless addressed his former views on the superstar point guard in an essay for GQ Magazine, simply stating in the opening: “I misunderstood, misjudged, missed the point on Allen Iverson.” The essay, which was published Monday (January 24th), explores why the journalist had such disdain for the athlete who became a star for the Philadelphia 76ers after being chosen by the team as the number one draft pick in the 1996 NBA Draft. In one section, Bayless goes back to his time as a reporter for the Ch...

Tom Brady Reportedly Noncommittal About Playing in the NFL in 2022

Star quarterback Tom Brady has always professed his desire to play in the NFL until the age of 45. As the milestone birthday approaches, potential murmurs of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers captain hanging up his jersey are becoming louder. The question about his retirement becomes more profound after the Bucs lost to the Los Angeles Rams over the weekend. ESPN‘s Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington have spoken with sources close to the Buccaneers and Brady and have stated that they “all recognize” that the QB “remains noncommittal” to playing beyond the 2021-22 season. Last September, Brady confirmed that he will definitely be playing through 2022, “Maybe it’s another year after [2022]; maybe it’s two. I’ll have to see where I’m at with my family. That’s probably the overriding factor — what I’m mi...

Alex Caruso Out for Six to Eight Weeks Due to Wrist Surgery From Grayson Allen’s Flagrant 2 Foul

Alex Caruso of the Chicago Bulls will be out for six to eight weeks as he undergoes wrist surgery. The NBA guard suffered a fractured right wrist during the Bulls versus Milwaukee Bucks game on January 21. Caruso’s right arm got tangled with Grayson Allen’s as the former attempted to perform a layup in the third quarter, forcing Caruso to aggressively land on the floor on his right wrist. Allen was given a flagrant 2 foul and ejected from Friday night’ game. The injury did not seem grave last week as the X-rays did not show anything serious, but the tone of the Bulls and Caruso’s agent, Greg Lawrence, have changed. “I expect the league will take into consideration not only what was a dangerous, unnecessary, and dirty play on Alex Caruso that caused this significant injury, but also th...

Jake Paul Claims To Make MMA Debut at Middleweight

Jake Paul is set on making his MMA debut at middleweight rather than cutting down to fit into welterweight. The YouTuber turned fighter claims that cutting weight not only destroys an athlete physically but it harms the mental health of the fighter. In a recent Tweet, he called out Dana White and said, “When I make my MMA debut, I could cut 20 pounds & do it at Welterweight / 170 pounds. That’s what all UFC fighters do and many have destroyed their bodies & minds doing it. But I’m gonna do it at Middleweight (185). Health first.” The post included an image of Conor McGregor in what appears to be two stages of weight categories. For context, Paul added, “PS Conor walking around at 190.” Earlier this month, Paul voiced that he is willing to retire from boxing and make the move over t...

Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Talks Making Difficult Decision About Football Future

It seems that the Green Bay Packers‘ loss to San Francisco 49ers might just make Aaron Rodgers‘ decision to return to the NFL team that much easier. The 38-year-old star quarterback has long been toying with the idea of either leaving his long-time team or retiring. When the 49ers upset the Packers, who were top-seeded, in the NFC divisional playoff round this weekend, Rodgers decision to come back to the Packers next season could have been swayed. After the game, ESPN caught up with the athlete who said, “I don’t want to be part of a rebuild if I’m going to keep playing.” Rodgers seems to be very clear that he wants to be playing on a winning team. He added, “I’m still super competitive, still know I can play at a high level, so it’s going to be a tough decision. I have a lot of things to...

LeBron James Becomes First Player in NBA History To Have 30K Points, 10K Rebounds and 9K Assists

Los Angeles Lakers star guard LeBron James has hit yet another milestone in his NBA career. Earlier this week James and the Lakers faced off against Indiana Pacers. Though the Los Angeles team lost 111-104, King James picked up 12 rebounds against the team, eclipsing the 10,000-rebound mark. With the new stat, James has now become the NBA’s first-ever player to reach 30,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 9,000 assists. Just recently, James also surpassed another NBA legend, Oscar Robertson with 9,908 assists. It will only be a matter of time before James will hit the 30K/10K/10K club. With over 36,000 career points so far, the 37-year-old NBA veteran is gunning for Karl Malone’s No. 2 spot, with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar still at the top spot. In his 19th year, King James proves time and time again...

Klay Thompson Says His Return to Golden State Warriors Is Everything He Imagined

Since Klay Thompson‘s return to the NBA, he has shown that his hiatus from the sport has not stopped his improvement. Having only played five games with the Golden State Warriors this season, Thompson currently averages 15.2 points, three rebounds and 2.2 assists. While he has been out for almost two and a half years prior to his return to the court, Thompson is evidently still a great asset to the team. In the most recent match against the Detroit Pistons, Thompson scored 21 points, shooting three for eight from beyond the arc. Following the game, Thompson gave fans an update on how he was feeling and if he is playing up to his standards since the return. When asked if being back on the court is everything he had imagined, Thompson responded, “Yes, just to be out there and have no hesitat...
