Taking home the victory across three straight sets over two hours, Medvedev triumphed over the Serbian player 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to achieve his first major title in the sport. Aside from his own personal victory, the 25-year-old also ended a historic run and attempt at a calendar slam by Djokovic, who has won all three of the other Grand Slams this year: the Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon.
