Lagos government promises to compensate victims of Fagba crisis

The Lagos State Government on Tuesday promised to compensate residents who lost their property to the Fagba crisis in Ifako-Ijaiye local government area of the state. Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, made the promise while on assessment of the level of destruction of property over the ethnic clash in the area. Police arraign ex-lawmaker, ex-governor’s aide, three others for ‘arson’

NSCDC partners youths to protect critical infrastructure in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), says it will collaborate with youth leaders across the state to ensure adequate protection of critical government infrastructure. The State Commandant of NSCDC, Mr Samuel Fadeyi, said this while answering questions from newsmen on Tuesday in Uyo. Fadeyi said that, in view of the current #EndSARS protests in some parts of the country, the command has deployed all its personnel to critical government infrastructure in the state. Two minors and four other suspects were paraded on Monday by police in Ekiti State in connection with arson attacks on three police stations in the State. Suspected hoodlums had last week attacked two Divisional Police Stations and the Area Command office in Ikere Ekiti, Ikere Ekiti Local Government Area in the wake of the #EndSARS protests. Hoodlums on Sunday attacked the head office of Complete Sports newspapers in Okota, Lagos. This was made known in a statement by the Group Managing Director of the company, Dr Mumini Alao. Schools in Ibadan reopen after protests

Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has directed schools in Ibadan to resume normal academic activities from Monday. The state’s Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Olasunkanmi Olaleye, made this known in a statement issued on Sunday in Ibadan. Olaleye said that the directive followed a review of the situation in the Ibadan metropolis as earlier promised by Gov. Makinde in a state broadcast on Oct. 20. The commissioner quoted the governor as appreciating youths who have been cooperating with security operatives to maintain peace.
