An inconvenient, but very effective litmus test for whether or not you’ve made it in showbiz is if your status makes your airport experience a little easier. At least, that was the case for Joseph Quinn, who was released from being detained by U.S. immigration because an officer recognized him as Stranger Things scene-stealer Eddie Munson. The actor talked about his troublesome travels during a recent visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I very nearly didn’t make it [here],” Quinn said, his British accent in full force. “I was taken into — I guess what you could call it — it was more of a dungeon. And I was asked to wait there for about 20 minutes and then I was summoned to this desk where someone asked me, ‘What are you doing in the United States, sir?’ I said, ‘I’m...

On Monday night (July 25), the British actor stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for what was his talk-show debut. He played it like a pro, just like he did in his special “metal” moment on Stranger Things, though as he tells Fallon, the scene everyone’s talking about was mildly terrifying to sho...

Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” (via Blackened/Vertigo) muscles its way into the U.K. Top 40 for the first time, with a little help from Stranger Things. The title track from the Bay Area rockers’ third album from 1986 is flying, following a particularly “metal” moment late in season four of Netflix’ hit sci-fi series, when Eddie Munson battles the forces of darkness with an electric guitar and the spirit of Metallica. Stranger Things‘ star Noah Schnapp has confirmed what most Season 4 viewers will have already guessed, telling Variety that his character Will Byers “is gay and he does love Mike.” This won’t come as a shock to anyone who’s spent lots of time in the Upside Down, though in the past, Schnapp has declined to comment on his character’s sexuality, saying, “It’s up to the audience’s interpretation.” That was a bluff, he has now admitted, in an attempt to avoid spoilers about Season 4. “Obviously, it was hinted at in Season 1,” Schnapp said of Will’s identity. “It was always kind of there, but you never really knew, is it just him growing up slower than his friends? Now that he’s gotten older, they made it a very real, obvious thing. Now it’s 100% clear that he is gay and he does l...
Kate Bush extends her reign over Australia’s singles chart with “Running Up That Hill,” which logs a third week at No. 1 and fifth in total. Bush and Australia, it would seem, have a tight, mutual bond. Brisbane’s Pub Choir is going viral with its cover of Bush’s 1985 hit, which caught the attention of its creator. Its singers are buzzing off an email received by the choir’s founder and director Astrid Jorgensen, in which Bush responds, “I’ve been so busy that I’ve only just had the chance to watch you all singing RUTH. It’s utterly, utterly wonderful! I love it so much! Thank you everyone. You sing it really beautifully. I’m incredibly touched by your warmth and all your smiling faces.” https://www.instagram.com/p/Cf-NttkP4wu/?hl=en Explore See latest videos, charts and news See late...
Eddie Munson may have been the breakout character of Stranger Things Season 4, a point proven by Netflix’s latest piece of marketing, a huge crop art installation the streaming service commissioned in his image. A new video, shot in a field “somewhere in Indiana,” shows a huge piece of crop art by artist Stan Herd depicting the beloved metalhead in all his glory. The aerial shots of the artwork are soundtracked, of course, by Metallica’s “Master of Puppets,” a fitting tribute for the character. “Eddie Munson 4 Ever,” the design reads. It leaves you wondering how far in advance Netflix commissioned the environmental piece, which was surely a lot of work, but apparently the streamer is always 10 steps ahead of the rest of us. Check out the crop art below. Actor Joseph Quinn did a lot of...
