It’s a classic Chainsmokers record in terms of its emotive songwriting, which explores the desire to spend as much time with a significant other as possible. “But if I only get one life, this is what I wanna do,” croons The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart. “And if I only get one life, I wanna live it with you.” Take a listen to “Riptide” below. After Martin Garrix finally teamed up with Zedd, fans of the Dutch dance music superstar may soon hear another dream collab. As chronicled over the past few days, Garrix has been showing Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers around his home country of the Netherlands. Both Garrix and Taggart have taken to social media to share some content from the trip. Most of the media shows the two friends simply having fun, but one particular video sent ripples through the electronic dance music community. As shared on Garrix’s now-expired Instagram Story, the tandem was spotted working on new music in the studio. For those who missed it, Festival Season screen-shotted a frame of the two producers working together. The original upload shared by Garrix was a video, but it did not have a...
Despite their continued mainstream success, it seems The Chainsmokers haven’t lost their bite. The duo are on the cusp of the release of their fourth album, titled So Far So Good, and they’ve already begun road-testing previously unheard cuts from the effort. The latest example of the duo rinsing their latest and greatest on stage was reposted to their TikTok account. The brief teaser reveals what The Chainsmakers are calling “one of the hardest drops on the album,” showcasing a scorching trap drop buoyed by thumping 808s. Coincidentally, given the reveal of the album’s tracklist earlier this month, we have a pretty good idea the track in question is coincidentally titled “Testing.” Check out the clip below. The Chainsmokers‘ fourth album is officially on the map. Titled So Far So Good, the LP is The Chainsmokers’ first since 2019’s chart-topping World War Joy. The tandem shared an official album trailer today, wherein they reveal the inspiration behind the 13-track album as well as its release date of May 13th. According to The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart, the album’s name derives from a quote from La Haine, a French crime drama film released in 1995. They found optimism in a particular quote, which they believe encapsulates the album’s subject matter: “Heard about the guy who fell off a skyscraper? On his way down past each floor, he kept saying to reassure himself, ‘So far so good… so far so good… so far so good.’ How you...
