Earlier in the month of July, eccentric tech billionaire Elon Musk unveiled 3D renderings of his new Giga Factory in Berlin, Germany. Musk, who has also dipped his toes in electronic music production via a house track called “Don’t Doubt Ur Vibe,” wrote at the time that the rooftop may double as a “rave space,” adding, “Might be an indoor/outdoor rave space on the roof,” in a tweet. After another typically incendiary tweet from the Tesla boss today, June 30th, in which he wrote that he “sure could use a good rave,” legendary DJ and producer Tiësto jumped in with his own solution. “Shall we put a drive-in party together for everyone who drives a Tesla ?” he posed. Considering the horsepower and means behin...
This weekend’s Tomorrowland Around the World digital festival showcased some of the best and brightest in dance music. Fans all over the world were able to tune in and see their favorite artists take the helm across a number of virtual stages. One of the most anticipated performances at the event was the debut of Tiësto‘s new side project, VER:WEST. Formally announced earlier in the month, VER:WEST is representative of Tiësto’s foray into melodic house music. Fortunately for fans who may have missed the debut performance, several clips have been circulating online. While short, you can still hear a bit of Tiësto’s melodic sound and see how he incorporates it in his live show. In addition to Tiësto, the virtual event features perfo...
In honor of the ten-year anniversary of her debut release, VASSY has dropped a remix EP for one of her all-time classics. Back in 2016, she joined forces with Tiësto for their Billboard Dance Club Songs number-one single, “Nothing to Lose.” Naturally, her chart-topping tune is the perfect track to celebrate her illustrious career. Released on her co-writers’ label, the record features remixes from LODATO, COOL KICKS, Kue, Gozzi, and Kobe Bourne and JK West. With each artist giving the track a unique spin, the remix EP signifies a metaphorical passing of the torch from the superstars to the up-and-comers. Over the course of her career, VASSY has gone platinum seventeen times, garnered over 2 billion streams, and has co...

Earlier this week, Tiësto informed fans that his first performance as VER:WEST is slated for Tomorrowland Around the World, which takes place on July 25th and 26th. Only a few days later, he has now released the first single under his VER:WEST alias, “5 Seconds Before Sunrise,” out via his AFTR:HRS imprint. Previously describing VER:WEST as “melodic house” and “new energy,” Tiësto has brought exactly that to the table with “5 Seconds Before Sunrise.” The chilled-out beat moves slowly for four and a half minutes, painting the perfect picture of the early morning moments leading up to dawn. Once the track fully blooms, a wave of delicate synths takes over the soft percussive elements, helping to paint an even...
After sharing a cryptic teaser and creating social media accounts in its honor last month, Tiësto is finally ready to debut his new side project, VER:WEST. Titled after his last name “Verwest,” fans have been eagerly awaiting to hear what the Dutch dance music veteran has in store. Luckily, the wait is almost over as he just announced that the first ever VER:WEST performance will take place at the Tomorrowland Around the World digital festival. Describing it as a “melodic house” side project, Tiësto spoke about his latest venture in a press release and shared how excited he was to show off a different side of himself. I would describe VER:WEST as melodic house music. It’s a lot deeper and more chill and a very different energy than Tiësto. I...
Still stuck in quarantine for the foreseeable future, DJs and producers are using the free time to churn out new releases. Last month Armin van Buuren had not one, but three new releases. That includes his most recent melodic house track, “Hollow,” and two festival-ready big room tracks, “Boom Boom” and “Tarzan” with Blasterjaxx. After releasing his London Sessions album in May, Tiësto is still dropping new music too. This time he went with a more bouncy house sound in “Tomorrow.” Nora En Pure also has been busy making new songs while she’s stuck at home. According to a press release for her first release of the year, “All I Need,” fans can expect “a steady stream of new music over the rest of the year.”&nbs...
Tiësto took to Facebook today to share a cryptic teaser of new music from an unheralded artist named VERWEST. Since the legendary DJ and producer’s real name is Tijs Michiel Verwest, it’s likely that he has just launched a new side project. A new Facebook page under the VERWEST name was also created and the same teaser was shared as its introductory post. If the music is any indication, he is turning back the clock to his earlier days of deep house and trance, as the track featured in the clip is a hypnotic number reminiscent of the Tiësto of old. As of the time of writing, Tiësto has not divulged any further information about VERWEST, including a release date for the song in the teaser or whether or not any other artists are involved in the project. Yo...

Tiësto has released his latest tune “Tomorrow,” featuring 433, via his own Musical Freedom imprint. “Tomorrow” is a bouncy anthem sprinkled with the big room elements that Tiësto fans have come to know and love. The track opens with a short percussion section made up of organic kicks and snares, followed by a hypnotizing synth that quickly introduces the melody. Claps and a catchy vocal sample help fill the build-up, which then leads into the energetic drop, which is primed to be a staple in future live sets. Longtime fans of Tiësto will certainly be ready to ride the wave of “Tomorrow.” Tiësto has consistently remained at the forefront of dance music, frequently releasing collaborations with high-profile artists inside and outside of...
Ready for a blast from the past? Think back to the simpler times of 2009, when your only worry was whether or not you were going to miss the new Jersey Shore episode. Jersey Shore was one of those guilty pleasure programs you couldn’t peel your eyes away from. Filled to the brim with drama, debauchery, and, of course, fist-pumping, it’s no wonder the absurdly entertaining show lasted for six seasons and received multiple spin-offs. Every year we couldn’t wait to see Snooki, Pauly D, Vinnie, J-Wow, Sammy, Ronnie, and of course Mike “The Situation” head back to the sun and booze-soaked boardwalk of the Jersey Shore. One thing you might have missed in between Snooki getting arrested or Sammy screaming at Ron for making fun of her big toe is that the show was...
