Spider-Man: No Way Home Makes History with Third-Biggest Box Office Opening of All Time

Spider-Man: No Way Home spun its web to the top of the box office this weekend, bringing in $253 million dollars in the US alone. That makes Tom Holland’s latest Spidey adventure the No. 3 domestic box office opening of all time, just behind Avengers: Endgame ($357 million) and Avengers: Infinity War ($257.6 million), per The Hollywood Reporter. The superhero three-quel, which saw Peter Parker accidentally open the multiverse and usher in Spider-Man villains from past franchises with some help from Benedict Cumberbatch’s Dr. Strange, also broke records internationally, where it also became the No. 3 leader at the global box office. Even without the lucrative Chinese market, the film brought in a global haul of $587.2 million. Advertisement Related Video “This weekend’s historic results, fr...

Tom Holland Says Sex Scenes Aren’t “Appropriate for the Spider-Man Franchise”

As much as the internet has been swooning over the newly-public romantic relationship between Tom Holland and Zendaya, don’t except to see them consummate their relationship on-screen: Holland, who stars as Peter Parker opposite Zendaya’s MJ in Spider-Man: No Way Home, told Yahoo Entertainment that he doesn’t see any need for sex scenes in the latest Spider-Man film. “I don’t think it’s appropriate for the Spider-Man franchise,” Holland said. “We are still very much young kids. Should there be a future for this character maybe one day we will explore that. But at the moment, this is a film about celebrating friendships and young love.” Despite Eternals having broken the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s sex-scene barrier earlier this fall, Zendaya evidently agrees, adding that “Pe...

Zendaya Stuns in a Slinky Spiderweb Slip Dress and a Gothic Venetian Mask

Zendaya‘s stylist Law Roach is such a master of his craft. For the Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere in Los Angeles, Zendaya arrived in a slinky spiderweb-covered slip dress that looked like it was hanging on by a thread. The dress complemented her costar Tom Holland‘s sleek double-breasted suit, with the couple matching in Louboutin footwear. Zendaya‘s beige, lace slip dress covered in black beaded spiderweb embroidery is a custom design by Valentino. Roach completed the look with sparkling, black pointed-toe Louboutin heels, jewels by Bulgari, and a black lace masquerade mask. Zendaya’s straight back braids, navy blue eyeliner, and wine-red tipped manicure added subtle texture and colour to her outfit and the overall “spider theme”. Holland matched his ...

Spider-Man: No Way Home Review: A Daring Narrative Feat With a Lot to Say About the Web-Slinger

The Pitch: It’s very very hard to make specific references to much of what happens in Spider-Man: No Way Home without spoilers. But at one point, while discussing the memory spell that Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) has agreed to perform for Peter Parker (Tom Holland), Peter voices his concern over his beloved MJ (Zendaya) forgetting that he’s Spider-Man. Doctor Strange then points out that if MJ is only Peter’s girlfriend because he’s Spider-Man, then what does that say about their relationship? It’s perhaps the smartest thing Doctor Strange says in the entire movie, and evaluating No Way Home leads to a similar dilemma. What director Jon Watts and writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers have done with this film is an unprecedented piece of corporate-produced art. But attempting to ...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Sony Pictures / Sony Pictures Spider-Man: No Way Home hasn’t even hit theaters yet and already Sony and Marvel are gearing up for another Webhead trilogy starring everyone’s current favorite arachnid superhero, Tom Holland. Fandango is reporting that Sony exec and film producer, Amy Pascal, spilled the beans on what’s next after No Way Home and while many feared it would be the end of Tom Holland’s run as Spider-Man, it’s actually just the end of this current three-part chapter that began with Spider-Man: Homecoming. During the interview with Fandango, Pascal revealed that Sony and Marvel are already planning Spidey’s next three-part adventure and it would definitely involve Tom Holland as the web-slinging wisecracking superhero. “This is not the last mov...

Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer Rips Apart the Multiverse: Watch

Come on, Marvel and Sony: We know there’s going to be more than one Spider-Man in the next movie, so why the play it so close to the web? Whatever game the studios are playing, the new Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer has arrived, and while neither Tobey Maguire nor Andrew Garfield appear, a ton of multiversal madness does. As revealed in the previous No Way Home preview, Alfred Molina and Willem Dafoe are back as Doctor Octopus 2004’s Spider-Man 2 and Green Goblin from 2001’s Spider-Man, respectively. We’ve also had hints that Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman (Spider-Man 3), Jamie Foxx’s Electro (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), and Rhys Ifans’ Lizard (The Amazing Spider-Man) would all be bursting through the cross-dimensional rift created by Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), an...

HHW Gaming: The First Trailer For ‘Uncharted’ Starring Tom Holland Has Arrived, Gamers Have Thoughts

HipHopWired Featured Video CLOSE Source: Sony Pictures / Uncharted Tom Holland is hitting familiar poses, minus his Spider-Man costume in the long-awaited trailer for Uncharted. Based on the popular video game from PlayStation’s Naughty Dog studios, Uncharted is PlayStation Productions’ first big project and sees Tom Holland take on the role of a younger version of the treasure hunter Nathan Drake. This movie has been years in the making, no seriously it has, and was first announced by producer Avi Arad in 2008, a year after the first game, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, landed on the PlayStation 3 console. It would go through development hell with Mark Wahlberg first being cast as Nathan Drake before he was eventually recast to play Victor “Sully” Sullivan, Drake’s loyal fellow treasure seek...

Video of a Young Tom Holland Dreaming About Being Spider-Man Goes Viral: Watch

Back when Tom Holland was just 13 years old, he was cast in his first-ever major Hollywood picture, The Impossible, alongside Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor. It was an exciting time for the budding star, and most of his interviews from back then were defined by his wide-eyed excitement at it all. Earlier this month, one fan was revisiting that period of Holland’s career when they made an incredible discovery: During one of those old interviews, a very young Holland can be heard talking about what a dream it would be to play Spider-Man later in life. In this particular video, the journalist recognizes Holland’s talent and appears to ask him which characters he would like to play in the future. “There are so many roles made every year,” says Holland. “It’s impossible to say exactly what you w...

Tom Holland Is Miscast In the Ambitious, Messy Cherry: Review

The Pitch: “Sometimes I wonder if life is wasted on me,” Cherry (Tom Holland) drawls wryly to us, godlike and incessant in his narration. When we meet him, he’s holding up a bank, and it’s not the first time. But how would a nice young man fall into such disrepute? From there, we rewind to see the life choices Cherry has made that led him to this point — from his furtive romance with a young classmate named Emily (Ciara Bravo) to the torment and torture of his days as an Army medic in Iraq, to the subsequent opioid addiction that would lead him to a life of bank-robbing to fund his drug habit. CHERK ‘Em If You Got ‘Em: In many ways, it’s going to be hard for Cherry to overcome its first real brush with public notoriety — a strangely-glitched version of the poster that messed...
