Frank McAvennie suggests Danny Rose for West Ham United

Frank McAvennie has suggested to Football Insider that Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose would be a good signing for West Ham United. The former West Ham striker believes that Rose would push West Ham left-back Aaron Cresswell for a place in the starting lineup. Rose, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle United, has been left out of Tottenham’s Premier League and Europa League squads. The England international left-back is out of contract at Spurs at the end of the season, and there is a very good chance that the 30-year-old may have played his final game for the North London club already. Football Insider reported this week that Tottenham are planning to hold talks with Rose over terminating his contract and coming to an agreement over a pay-off, as covered on...

Watford striker Troy Deeney admits he held talks over summer move

Watford striker Troy Deeney has admitted that he considered leaving the club during the summer transfer window. The 32-year-old striker expressed his desire to play in the Premier League following Watford’s relegation to the Championship last season. Deeney has now admitted that he held talks with various parties over a potential summer exit from Vicarage Road. The veteran striker was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window. Sky Sports reported last month that Spurs had identified Deeney as a potential back-up option for Harry Kane. When Deeney was asked whether he ever had a conversation with Spurs boss Jose Mourinho, the striker replied: “I saw Jose at the Watford Spurs game in pre-season. That’s all I’ll say.” Deeny remained at Watford and ...

Danny Rose’s time at Tottenham Hotspur is well and truly over

According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are planning to terminate Danny Rose’s current contract. Rose has been on the books of Tottenham since 2007 and is out of contract at the North London club at the end of the season. Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho had already left the left-back out of his squad for the 2020-21 Europa League campaign, and on Tuesday, the Portuguese decided not to include him in his Premier League squad either. With Rose having spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle United, it is clear that Mourinho does not rate the England international left-back highly. Football Insider has reported that Spurs are planning talks with Rose and will offer him a pay-off to terminate his £70,000-a-week deal. Danny Rose’s time at Tottenham Hotspur is over ...

Should Liverpool go after Milan Skriniar in January?

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could be forced to chalk out transfer plans for January already as the Reds sweat on the scan reports of Virgil van Dijk and Thiago Alcantara. Both the players suffered injuries during the Merseyside derby clash with Jurgen Klopp saying after the match he doesn’t feel good about the situation of the Dutchman. There are doubts that Van Dijk could miss the rest of the season with a knee injury, and if that happens it would come as a hammer blow to Liverpool’s title hopes. The Reds can still cope up without Thiago, having won the Champions League and the Premier League title without the Spaniard in the last two seasons, but losing Van Dijk could be a devastating blow. Not only is the Dutchman one of the best centre-backs in the league, but he is also a leader at th...

‘I’m not quite sure’: Bent shares his only concern for ‘tremendous’ Spurs summer signing

Former Tottenham striker turned popular football pundit Darren Bent feels that Matt Doherty may struggle to show his best form at Spurs. Spurs signed Doherty from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer as Jose Mourinho added depth in the full-back areas. Doherty was simply superb at Wolves and he is expected to take his game to the next level at Spurs. However, his role at Spurs is slightly different from the one he used to perform at Wolves. The Republic of Ireland international was mainly deployed as a wing-back where Doherty got the freedom to join the attack at every possible opportunity. At Spurs, he plays as a conventional right-back where he is asked to stay disciplined at the back. Bent, the former Sunderland striker, is now concerned about whether Doherty would be able to show his be...

Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik has said that he is waiting for the January transfer window to open so that he can leave the Serie A club. The Poland international was heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer, with Premier League clubs Everton and Tottenham Hotspur showing keen interest in signing him. Spurs were particularly keen to sign him as Jose Mourinho was looking to bolster his striker department this summer. He was earmarked as a back-up striker for Harry Kane, and the Polish striker was in talks over a £26million move before the recent transfer window closed. The deal didn’t materialise. Tottenham Hotspur expect to complete a deal for Joe Rodon in the next few days, according to reports from The Athletic. However, Jose Mourinho is keen to sign a centre-back this summer and has earmarked the 22-year-old as a potential option. Rodon reportedly wants to join Spurs as he wishes to play alongside Gareth Bale who joined this summer on loan from Real Madrid. At the moment, the two clubs are a long way apart in their valuation, but Spurs are hopeful that a deal can be agreed. Spurs need...

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to offload a few players before the end of Friday’s deadline, while Jose Mourinho could be looking to make at least one signing from the Championship club. According to Football London journalist, Alasdair Gold, Mourinho wants to keep Jack Clarke at the club beyond the end of the summer transfer window. He was immediately loaned back to Leeds and spent a loan spell at Queens Park Rangers as well. However, manager Brendan Rodgers is not looking to pursue his services this summer as he wants to give time for new centre-back Wesley Fofana to settle in first. Hence, the east Midlands outfit are only planning to make an approach for Rodon in January or next summer and that puts Spurs in a good position in the player’s pursuit. The north London side rece...
