Tottenham are ready to finalise a new deal with star forward Son Heung-Min. According to Football Insider, the Londoners are looking to make him one of their highest-paid players and they have offered him a deal worth around £200,000-a-week plus performance-related bonuses. Apparently, it will be a five-year deal and would keep the South Korean at the club during his peak years. The 28-year-old is one of the best players in the Premier League and it is hardly surprising that Spurs are doing their best to keep him at the club for the long haul. Son has been in red-hot form this season and he has 8 goals and 2 assists to his name already. He will be crucial to Tottenham’s ambitions this season. The South Korean has arguably been Tottenham’s best player since the arrival of Jose Mourinho...
Manchester City’s flight to London had to be rerouted after a technical issue on the plane meant that they could not land at their scheduled destination. The first-team squad flew to the capital on Friday ahead of City’s lunchtime Premier League clash with West Ham United. But their flight had to redirected from City Airport to London Stansted more than 30 miles away. Goal reports that there was a problem with the plane’s anti-skid system which meant that it could not land at an airport with a short runway. The team suffered a slight delay ahead of travelling to the hotel before Saturday’s clash. It is understood that there was no fault on the part of the airport but the flight would not have needed to be rerouted had it been scheduled to land at a major airport. In 2016, a City team fligh...
Tottenham Hotspur host Austrian side LASK tonight as the 2020-21 Europa League campaign kicks off, and Jose Mourinho’s men will look to quickly put Sunday’s disappointing 3-3 draw with West Ham United behind them. [embedded content] The Portuguese won the Europa League with Porto in 2002-03 and with Manchester United in 2016-17, and he will be keen to do it with Spurs. The North Londoners have been drawn alongside LASK, Ludogorets and Royal Antwerp in Group J, and they are huge favourites to top the group and progress to the round-of-32 with some games to spare. A convincing victory is expected at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tonight, but the hosts can’t afford to belittle any team after some of the experiences they had during the qualifying rounds. Spurs have a decent squad depth after d...
Watford striker Troy Deeney has admitted that he considered leaving the club during the summer transfer window. The 32-year-old striker expressed his desire to play in the Premier League following Watford’s relegation to the Championship last season. Deeney has now admitted that he held talks with various parties over a potential summer exit from Vicarage Road. The veteran striker was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window. Sky Sports reported last month that Spurs had identified Deeney as a potential back-up option for Harry Kane. When Deeney was asked whether he ever had a conversation with Spurs boss Jose Mourinho, the striker replied: “I saw Jose at the Watford Spurs game in pre-season. That’s all I’ll say.” Deeny remained at Watford and ...
Tottenham could soon lose Sergio Reguilon to Real Madrid. The 23-year-old left-back joined the London club earlier this summer and he has been very impressive for the Premier League side so far. However, it seems that Real Madrid could exercise their buyback clause and bring the Spaniard back to the club. According to AS, the Spanish giants will have to pay around €10m more than they received from Tottenham for Reguilon. Real Madrid star Marcelo is past his peak and he will need to be phased out of the team soon. With Ferland Mendy as the only other reliable left-back option at the squad, it is understandable why Real Madrid are considering the option to bring back Reguilon. The Spurs ace is an established international for Spain now and he has proven his quality in the Premier League...
Tottenham Hotspur are looking to give Son Heung-min a new contract extension at the club, according to reports from the Daily Mail. The report claims that Spurs are looking to renegotiate the contracts of some of the key players at the club, and tying up Son to a contract extension is a priority for the north London club. Spurs enjoyed a successful summer transfer window where they signed as many as seven first-team players including the emotional return of Gareth Bale from Real Madrid. The 28-year-old earns in the region of £150,000-per-week but the Korean can expect to earn more. And he deserves that. Gradual progress Son joined Spurs in the summer of 2015 from German club Bayer Leverkusen for a reported fee of £22 million. He took time to settle in at his new c...
According to Football Insider, out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose rejected the chance to move to English Championship outfit Watford on Friday’s domestic transfer deadline day. The Hornets were keen on the 30-year-old last summer after he was left out of Spurs’ pre-season tour to Singapore and told he was not part of erstwhile manager Mauricio Pochettino’s long-term plans. However, their bid was knocked back as the North Londoners held out for £20 million. Rose himself was at Watford’s training ground on summer transfer deadline day last summer, but the move fell through and he returned to Tottenham, featuring in 12 Premier League games during the first half of the campaign. #WatfordFC transfer update Rose has now departed TG after two bids rejected by Spurs. https://t.co...
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could be forced to chalk out transfer plans for January already as the Reds sweat on the scan reports of Virgil van Dijk and Thiago Alcantara. Both the players suffered injuries during the Merseyside derby clash with Jurgen Klopp saying after the match he doesn’t feel good about the situation of the Dutchman. There are doubts that Van Dijk could miss the rest of the season with a knee injury, and if that happens it would come as a hammer blow to Liverpool’s title hopes. The Reds can still cope up without Thiago, having won the Champions League and the Premier League title without the Spaniard in the last two seasons, but losing Van Dijk could be a devastating blow. Not only is the Dutchman one of the best centre-backs in the league, but he is also a leader at th...
Tottenham Hotspur host West Ham United later today and the London derby is expected to be a feisty one after both sides headed into the international break on the back of impressive victories. Spurs blew Manchester United away in a 6-1 demolition while the Hammers shocked Leicester City 3-0 at the King Power Stadium. Both teams will be keen to continue from where they stopped, but Jose Mourinho’s side are favourites given their form so far in 2020-21. Tottenham haven’t lost across all competitions since suffering defeat at the hands of Everton on the opening weekend of the campaign, and they have had their squad bolstered with some quality additions during the closing stages of the summer transfer window. They added Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon andGareth B...
Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has showered heaps of praise on Brazilian teammate Philippe Coutinho. Firmino has hailed the former Liverpool midfielder as an ‘unbelievable player’. Coutinho, who moved to Barcelona from Liverpool, was heavily linked with a return to the Premier League, with clubs like Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and the Reds being linked. According to reports from The Independent, Barcelona were interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and were willing to offer Coutinho plus cash in order to sign the player. It was reported that the Catalan giants were long-term admirers of Ndombele, and were interested in signing him last summer before Spurs did. Coutinho was also linked with a return to Liverpool, but Reds boss Jurgen Klopp wen...
Tottenham Hotspur added six players to their first-team during the international summer transfer window, and they could still make one more signing before the EFL transfer deadline on Friday. While those players will no doubt help boost the quality of the Spurs squad, the club-record signing is also starting to live up to expectations after struggling last term. Tanguy Ndombele appears to have forced himself into the plans of head coach Jose Mourinho this term, featuring in seven games across all competitions and weighing in with two goals. The 23-year-old wasn’t called up by France for this month’s international break, and he has used that opportunity to continue working hard at Hotspur Way. Ndombele shared a clip of one of his training sessions on social media, and it left Lyon star Memp...
Speaking to COPA90, former Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas opened up on a conversation he had with Gareth Bale while both were still at the club, which eventually became a turning point in the Tottenham star’s career. The Welshman got off to a poor start when he joined Tottenham from Southampton in 2007 but has gone on to become one of the most dreaded forwards in the sports today. While at White Hart Lane, Bale struggled to impress under a number of managers but his quality began to come to light when Harry Redknapp joined the club and even more under Villa-Boas. The 31-year-old Welsh international, who recently returned to Spurs last month in a loan deal with Real Madrid, actually began his career as a left-back before being considered as an attacker. Villas-Boas lifte...
