illuminati hotties Drops “Threatening Each Other re: Capitalism”: Stream

illuminati hotties has shared the latest single from her upcoming album, Let Me Do One More. It’s cleverly titled “Threatening Each Other re: Capitalism,” and you can hear it below. On the new track, the indie rock project from the mind of Sarah Tudzin shines a magnifying glass on modern consumerism over the slow roil of reverberating guitars and drums. “But if you’re not too embarrassed/ Of how I go out in public/ Do you think that we could make a deli run?” she asks before launching into the song’s philosophically-minded chorus. “The corner store is selling spit/ Bottled up for profit/ I can’t believe I’m buying in/ Isn’t that genius?” “‘Threatening Each Other re: Capitalism’ makes haste of a machine by which we’ve all been fooled as well as the people who have fooled themselves into thi...

Dinosaur Jr. Postpone Tour Due to COVID-19

Dinosaur Jr. have postponed the first leg of their North American tour, citing rising “COVID cases and hospitalizations along with the impact that the Delta variant is having.” In April of this year, the alt-rock veterans dropped Sweep It into Space, their first album since 2016’s Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not and their 12th overall. After playing a few scattered dates, the band was set to embark on a big headlining trek next week. But all dates from September 10th through October 2nd have been postponed, with the band hoping to continue as planned with the second leg beginning in November. “I’m really bummed that we’re not playing these shows,” J Mascis said in a statement. “I miss touring and miss all of you. The Dodos Announce New Album Grizzly Peak, Drop “Annie” and “The Surface”: Stream

The Dodos have announced their forthcoming new album, Grizzly Peak, and shared a pair of singles in “Annie” and “The Surface.” The indie rock duo’s eighth studio effort is slated to arrive November 12th via Polyvinyl Record Co., and serves as their first full-length since 2018’s Certainty Waves. Lead single “Annie” finds The Dodos at both their brightest and most regretful, pleading for forgiveness over virtuosic instrumentation and production. “Oh Annie/ Could it be something/ That I had been missing/ All along?/ Annie/ Can you forgive me?/ We were going to ride it/ Till the end,” Meric Long croons on the chorus. Meanwhile, “The Surface,” is a jaunty ode to depression and burnout, as Long sings of being, “Tired, almost out of ideas,” and wondering “how do I fake my death?” “We had a lot o...

Fans have waited 25 years for Michael McDonald to reunite with The Doobie Brothers. McDonald pulled out of the August 31st concert at the Minnesota State Fair, as did the opening act Dirty Dozen Brass Band. The rest of the Doobie Brothers performed as planned, and after the second song, Patrick Simmons provided some insight. “He’s recuperating and isolating,” he said of McDonald (via the Star Tribune). “We hope to have him back in a week or so.” He added that the singer “had his vaccine.” Advertisement Related Video Tom Johnston was quick to point out that the entire band and their touring crew had al...
