Michelle de Swarte on the Challenges of Yelling at Infants in HBO’s The Baby

Michelle de Swarte isn’t a mother, and she doesn’t play one on TV either. Instead, in the HBO horror-comedy series The Baby, she plays Natasha, a woman whose happily child-free existence gets complicated when a mysterious infant literally lands in her arms. That’d be enough for anyone to handle, but things get even more complicated when Natasha realizes that the baby might be, well, evil. Certainly people keep dying when he’s around. It’s a whole thing. De Swarte didn’t have much acting experience prior to the series — as she tells Consequence, she booked the job thanks to her work as a stand-up. “I speak about myself, my past experiences, and how it informs the decisions that I make now ultimately,” she says of her typical set. “I speak about therapy, living in the States — as I lived out...

Stephen Colbert Pauses Late Show After Experiencing COVID Symptoms

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert paused production this week after its namesake began experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19. A statement posted to the program’s Twitter account on May 9th reads: “Stephen is experiencing symptoms consistent with a recurrence of COVID. Out of an abundance of caution for his staff, guests, and audience, he will be isolating for a few additional days. The Late Show will not be taping new episodes until further notice.” Colbert previously contracted the virus in April, but said he felt fine thanks to being triple vaccinated. At the time, the show had already planned to air reruns from April 22nd through May 1st, so only its April 21st taping was canceled. Following news of the show’s cancellation today, the comedian joked on Twitter, “WORST. SEQ...

‘I Was Always The One In The Wrong’: Chloe Opens Up About Her Past On Siesta Key

Chloe’s journey to self-discovery continues — but now, it’s with Chris (and only good vibes) by her side. This week’s Siesta Key featured the zen blonde still reeling from her recent talk with Sam (a little sage over here, please!). Resolving to take a break from “the Sam and Juliette sh*tstorm,” Chloe found herself focused on getting settled into her new home with Chris, despite hearing from friends and family that the two are “moving way too quickly.” Even Chloe’s mom expressed concern over the pair’s swift move-in — while bringing up her daughter’s past. “She used to be quite a handful. I just hope she never goes back in that direction,” Michelle said. Chris was quick t...

R.I.P. Mike Hagerty, Mr. Treeger on Friends Dead at 67

Mike Hagerty, an icon of Chicago comedy known for roles on Friends and HBO’s Somebody, Somewhere, has died at 67. The cause of death has not been made public. Born May 10th, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, Hagerty cut his teeth as part of the famed comedy troupe The Second City. Liam Neeson Makes Surprise Cameo on Atlanta to “Apologize” for Past Racism Scandal

Atlanta fans were in for a surprise last night when none other than Liam Neeson popped up on the hit FX drama’s latest episode. In his Season 3 cameo appearance written by Donald Glover, the Taken action star played a fictitious version of himself who chats up Brian Tyree Henry’s Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles at a bar called Cancel Club. “You might’ve heard or read about my transgression,” Neeson says on the show, referencing his racially-charged controversy back in 2019. “You know, what I said about what I wanted to do to a Black guy, any Black guy, when I was a younger man in London. A friend of mine had been raped and I acted out of anger. I look back now and it honestly frightens me. I thought people knowing who I once was would make clear who I am, who I’ve become. But with all that b...

I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson Renewed for Season 3 at Netflix

I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson, the hit Netflix sketch series, has been picked up for Season 3. As cast member Sam Richardson told Variety, the writing process is underway, but there are no further details available. “I’m not sure when they’ll start filming,” Richardson said. “But there are funny sketches coming already, I can tell you that much.” Co-created by star Tim Robinson with Zach Kanin, the show’s second season dropped on Netflix back in July 2021 more than two years after its 2019 premiere. Both seasons have contained six episodes of off-beat, absurdist sketches running roughly 15 to 17 minutes long. Survival Rates: Which Ex On The Beach Couple Has What It Takes To Last?

If love, like life, is a marathon and not a sprint, the cast of Ex on the Beach Season 5 has miles to go before they sleep. Still, there are a handful of romances that are showing some real promise in spite of adversity (and many cocktail tosses). So now that we’re at the halfway point, which couple do you think has the potential to go the distance? During tonight’s episode, and after Dani finally gave up on rekindling her romance with David (“I think I got the wrong impression, and I am done after this,” she said as she left the beach in a hurry), there were three sparks that seemed intent on remaining aflame: Mike and Arisce’s, Derynn and Ricky’s and David and Kyra’s. And while each remained alight, each also faced an imminent risk ready to snuff them out. Or, in the case of David ...

Siesta Key Hookup: Juliette May Have Just Pulled A Sam

You know what they say: What goes around comes around… especially in Siesta Key. Juliette was back to her jet-setting ways on tonight’s episode: Just days after returning home from Paris, she flew to Miami to cuddle with a boy and his dog “spend time with some friends.” Despite friend-zoning Sam, the two are still playing checkers hanging out, as he promptly greeted her with a welcome-home bottle of Pedialyte upon her return and “slept over.” But that’s not what she’s telling her friends — the blonde maintained that she’s “done with Sam.” “I’m just ready to move on. I forgot how annoying he was. He just thinks he’s in the right all the time, [and] I’m over it,” she...

There’s no word yet on whether the series will return to its audience-oriented format, which was adjusted to location shoots in the middle of Season 3’s production due to the onset of the pandemic. The press release does note that all episodes were filmed before March 2022, meaning the topic of Smith’s controversial Oscars slap will not be broached in his sit-down with Letterman, though there’s still p...

Real World Closure: Danny And Paul Finally Reunited On Homecoming

Danny expressed his wish for “some sort of closure” with ex-boyfriend Paul shortly after reliving some of their most memorable Real World: New Orleans moments and opening up about their life after leaving the MTV show. And during this week’s Homecoming episode, Danny reunited with the former captain in the Airborne Rangers, and they had a non-confrontational discussion given their complicated past. But did the duo achieve an amicable resolution? Before Danny and Paul’s sitdown, Danny had revealed the two broke up after seven or eight years; he admitted he’d had an overwhelming fear of ending their romance because the relationship was “held on a pedestal,” along with a deep worry of disappointing gay America. However, as Danny told Jamie and Julie, ...
