‘My Heart Is There’: Jersey Shore‘s Vinny Is Headed Back To The East Coast

Vinny might not live with his mama Paola no more!, but the Staten Island native is about to be much closer to her — and his Jersey Shore family. After less than a year in sunny Los Angeles, tonight’s Jersey Shore: Family Vacation saw our beloved keto guido bickering with Angelina gearing up to make the big move back east. While LA has been a solid choice career-wise, mentally, it hasn’t been easy for Vinny. Some days, the highlight of his afternoon was unloading the dishwasher. Other days, conversing with Alexa. But more than anything, he missed fist-pumping his friends and family something fierce — especially Mama Guadagnino and her chicken cutlets. “Every day, I’m gonna wake up now to my dog and my niece, having them so close, and my mom,R...

We Need to Talk About Cosby: W. Kamau Bell on Having “The Bigger Conversation,” and If He’d Do a Sequel

It’s probably possible to spend an entire decade discussing Bill Cosby, the comedy legend who was eventually revealed to be a serial predator. For We Need to Talk About Cosby, director W. Kamau Bell got four hours. “Showtime was great about giving us every minute they could, to let us push it as far as we could. Some of these episodes are like 59:59,” he tells Consequence in a Zoom interview. Bell, who also currently hosts CNN’s United Shades of America, brought his insight as a comedian who grew up as a “child of Bill Cosby,” as well as his experience working in documentary television, to the four-part series, which premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival before its Showtime debut. The series tracks the entirety of Cosby’s career, putting into context the importance of the strides he...

Halo Trailer Finally Reveals A Glimpse at Master Chief’s Story: Watch

Paramount+ unveiled the trailer for its upcoming live-action adaptation of Halo on Sunday, revealing our first substantial look at the intergalactic sci-fi drama. While taking inspiration from the popular video game series, the long-gestating TV adaptation by executive producer Steven Spielberg will exist in its own timeline separate from the series, and tell the story of Natascha McElhone’s Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey as she creates genetically-enhanced super soldiers known as Spartans to help win the 26th-century war against a shadowy organization known as The Covenant. Pablo Schreiber’s Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 is one of those super soldiers, and commands a Spartan battalion called a “unity” as the series’ lead protagonist. In the trailer, we get a taste of his origin stor...

John Mulaney to Become Third Fastest Host to Join SNL’s Five-Timers Club

John Mulaney is set to join Saturday Night Live’s Five-Timers Club as he returns to host on February 26th. LCD Soundsystem will serve as the episode’s musical guest, marking the band’s first visit to Studio 8H since 2017. Mulaney, who worked on SNL as a writer between 2008 and 2014, first hosted an episode of the show in 2018. He’s since hosted in each subsequent season, making him one of the fastest hosts to join the illustrious Five-Timers Club (three years and 320 days, to be exact). In fact, only Steve Martin and Buck Henry joined the club in a shorter time frame. Following Mulaney’s most recent turn as host in October 2020, he entered rehab for substance abuse. After completing treatment, he began dating actress Olivia Munn. The couple welcomed their first child in December 2021. Mula...

R.I.P. Howard Hesseman, “Dr. Johnny Fever” from WKRP in Cincinnati Dead at 81

Howard Hesseman, the veteran comedy actor known for his roles on WKRP in Cincinnati and Head of the Class, has died at the age of 81. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hesseman died Saturday, January 29th, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Los Angeles due to complications from colon surgery he first had last summer. Hesseman will likely best be remembered for his role as the anti-disco disc jockey “Dr. Johnny Fever” on WKRP in Cincinnati.  A former radio DJ in his early years, Hesseman was cast on the show as a last-minute replacement for Richard Libertini. “He just stepped in and killed it. He knew exactly what he was doing,” recalled WKRP in Cincinnati director Jay Sandrich in an interview from 2001. For his portrayal of Johnny Fever, Hesseman was twice nominated for a Primetim...

Action, Murder, Musical and Romance: The Afterparty Cast and Creator on the Art of Genre-Bending

Technically, The Afterparty is one show, a murder mystery in the style of Agatha Christie that tracks what happens when the celebration following a high school reunion becomes the site of tragedy for an obnoxious pop singer (Dave Franco). But it also could be said to be many different shows, as every member of the all-star cast, including Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, and Jamie Demetriou, is a suspect, and as Detective Danner (Tiffany Haddish) interviews them, their version of events mimics a popular genre of entertainment. Each episode thus focuses on one genre, from rom-com to action movie to musical and more, as meticulously recreated by creator Chris Miller, which he says evolved organically out of his original concept for the series. Katy Perry and Chris Redd Seem to Have Some Awkward History in ‘SNL’ Promo

Willem Dafoe brings some seriously big Green Goblin energy to this week’s Saturday Night Live promo. The 66-year-old Spider Man: No Way Home star is positively giddy in the spot featuring this week’s musical guest, Katy Perry, and cast member Chris Redd. Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news “Oh man! I love this sketch already,” Dafoe giggles as Redd gently explains that they’re filming the promo, not the show. “Hey, whatever you call it. It’s hilarious!” In the second bit the scene turns a bit dark as Redd and Perry seem to be working out some previously private drama. “Katy, can’t believe you’re back,” a distressed Redd says with a sigh about the singer’s upcoming (Jan. 29) fourth go-round as musical guest. “Why? Does that scare you?,” Perry — wear...

Fox News Has Meltdown Over Minnie Mouse’s Pantsuit

Another day, another round of meltdowns at Fox News. Last week, Tucker Carlson ranted about the “less sexy” female M&Ms, and now Candace Owens is upset about Minnie Mouse wearing pants. On Tuesday, Disneyland Paris announced that the iconic mascot would be getting a chic makeover for the park’s upcoming 30th anniversary. Minnie will be temporarily swapping out her classic red polka dot dress for a chic pantsuit designed by Stella McCartney, all in honor of Women’s History Month. Naturally, multiple Fox personalities spun into a spiraling rage blackout. “This is why people don’t take these people seriously, they are taking all of these things, that nobody was offended by and feel they have to get rid of them and destroy them,” railed Owens in an appearance on Jesse Watters Primetim...

The Office Now Has a Mobile Game for People Stuck in 2009

It may seem hard to grasp the appeal of a video game format where your only task is to press a button over and over, but The Office went off the air nine years ago and it’s still dominating streaming numbers, so there’s a market for everything. East Side Games Group knows this, which is why they developed The Office: Somehow We Manage, a new idle game available for download on iOS and Android. In the game, players collect characters from The Office and work to sell paper at a digital Dunder Mifflin. As is the case in all idle games, this “work” earns players in-game cash. It’s a pretty straightforward concept, but the characters in the game reference plotlines from the show, so you get your nostalgia fix in a new, interactive way. Talk about beating — or clicking — a dead horse. ...

Space Force Retooled to Be More Like The Office in Season 2: Watch the Trailer

“‘Well, that wasn’t very much fun to make,’” Steve Carell said to Greg Daniels at the conclusion of Space Force Season 1. Daniels was the creator of The Office, and as he told Collider in a new interview, he and his star set out to create a more improvisational atmosphere for Season 2 in the hopes of capturing the magic of their most famous collaboration. You can catch some of that silliness in the newly-released trailer below. Space Force is a workplace comedy about those tasked with creating the sixth branch of the armed forces, which formed under President Trump and now continues under the new administration. “Steve and I were very much in the mind of not making it like The Office in the beginning, we were trying to make it very cinematic,” Daniels sa...

Maybe It’s a Bad Thing That The Book of Boba Fett’s Fifth Episode Was So Good

[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers for The Book of Boba Fett, “Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian.”] This week’s episode of The Book of Boba Fett delivered a hell of a twist: It wasn’t about Boba Fett. Instead, the Mandalorian spinoff went ahead and became an episode of The Mandalorian, bringing back everyone’s favorite Space Dad (Pedro Pascal) and catching us up with what he’s been up to since surrendering sweet young Baby Yoda Grogu to Luke Skywalker for Jedi training. “Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian” did eventually connect to the events of Boba Fett so far, but it served more value in reintroducing a character who perhaps we didn’t realize we missed so much. The system shock of Din’s return ended up highlighting what’s been missing from the series: An actual emotion...
