Pete Davidson Says Bob Saget Helped Him Through “Some Rough Mental Health Stuff” in Tribute

Pete Davidson has added his name to the growing list of celebrities attesting to the kindness of the late Bob Saget. Following Saget’s shocking death on January 9th, the Saturday Night Live star opened up about his relationship with the comedian, calling him “one of the nicest men on the planet.” “When I was younger and several times throughout our friendship he helped me get through some rough mental health stuff,” Davidson, who doesn’t have social media, said in a message posted to friend Dave Sirius’ account. “He stayed on the phone with my mom for hours trying to help in anyway he can — connecting us with doctors and new things we can try. He would check in on me and make sure I was okay.” “I love you Bob it was an honor to know you,” Davidson concluded. “Thank you for your kindness an...

2022 Golden Globes: See The Complete Winners List

To say this year’s Golden Globes Awards are a little different would be an understatement. Historically, the show had typically kicked off awards season with a celeb-filled ceremony airing live on NBC from the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. But after multiple controversies plagued the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, including an internal lack of diversity and numerous unethical business practices, NBC canceled the 2022 telecast, leaving the Globes without a broadcast home. When the ceremony takes place tonight (January 9), it will be bereft of any celebrity presenters and will not be live-streamed; the winners will be announced online, a tweet from the Golden Globes account revealed on Thursday. Last year’s telecast was marked by moments of commentary on the HFPA’s f...

I love you so much Bobby.” “Bob Saget was as lovely a human as he was funny. And to my mind, he was hilarious. We were close friends and I could not have loved him more,” wrote legendary TV writer and producer Norman Lear. Golden Globes 2022 Winners: The Power of the Dog, West Side Story, Succession Take Top Prizes

The 2022 Golden Globes represented a truly unprecedented moment for the 78-year-old awards ceremony — for one thing, there wasn’t a public ceremony. Instead, in the middle of both a rising Omicron wave and an ongoing existential crisis, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced last Thursday that it would announce this year’s winners via social media on the designated night, during a private event. Thus, with pretty much the opposite of fanfare, The Power of the Dog (Drama) and West Side Story (Comedy/Musical) were named the best films of 2021 by HFPA members. On the TV side, Succession, HBO Max’s Hacks, and Amazon Prime’s The Underground Railroad were recognized as last year’s outstanding drama, comedy, and limited series. Jane Campion also won best director for The Power of ...

A Remarkable Zendaya Anchors Euphoria Season 2: Review

The Pitch: HBO’s provocative teen drama returns on Sunday, January 9th, and while plenty of things have changed for the characters in this neon-soaked, nightmarish dreamscape of Southern California, so much is still the same. That’s the thing about addiction, isn’t it? It’s a cycle that’s very, very hard to break. But we as the audience are once again in the hands of young addict Rue as our omniscient narrator, who continues to be lovingly brought to life by Zendaya, the youngest person ever to win an Emmy for Best Actress for a Drama Series. Still Don’t Know Her Name: “I don’t think I’m a good person.” Repeated like a refrain, delivered like a prayer, this sentence is a concise summary of many of the central struggles in Season 2 of Euphoria. To that end, things pick up in fairly familiar...

Why Violence Fits So Well Into the World of The Righteous Gemstones

Comedies don’t typically include a body count. But right from the beginning, The Righteous Gemstones has defied a lot of expectations. Not only has the HBO series, created by Danny McBride, taken on the often tricky topic of religion, specifically Christianity as preached by a megachurch family, but it’s done so with its own unique blend of pitch-black comedy and serious stakes. “I wouldn’t say we are like Game of Thrones, where someone dies every week,” Edi Patterson, who plays Gemstone daughter Judy, tells Consequence in a recent Zoom interview. “But anything can happen, that’s for sure,” “Wealth and power give these bigger stakes to a family drama, a family comedy,” adds Tim Baltz, who plays Judy’s ever-loyal partner. Advertisement “I’d be so upset if Judy ever died,” says Patterson. No...

The Boys Season 3 Reveals a Release Date, First Footage Full of Summertime Revenge

Lots of weird, wild, and scary stuff has happened over the course of the first two seasons of superhero action dramedy The Boys (that poor whale), but there’s nothing quite as scary as Homelander (Antony Starr) smiling. That’s what gets put front and center in this first look footage from Season 3, which Amazon Prime Video announced Friday will premiere this June. Per the official YouTube description, “Payback’s coming June 3rd.” Season 2 of the series ended with neo-Nazi superhero Stormfront (Aya Cash) getting pulverized but Homelander remaining, in the eyes of the public, a big damn hero. And while Starlight (Erin Moriarty) is also back in the public’s good graces (not to mention her original, less-revealing supersuit), she’s more than aware that behind the blinding grin we see in this t...

Two Babies (And A Divorce?): Changes Are In Store For The Jersey Shore Fam

The Jersey Shore fam continues to be hit with all the life changes — and they just keep rolling with the punches fist pumps. Tonight’s season premiere kicked off with the official official return of Snooki, whose family vacation FOMO was in full force last year. While Dren Nicole did throw crabcakes in Angelina’s hair make a handful of appearances, she missed the fam something awful. Speaking of mom life: While JWOWW has been in full-on wedding-planning mode with Zack, Deena delivered her second precious meatball following 12 hours of labor. “Cameron is just everything I imagined and more. He’s beautiful, and it was just amazing,” she gushed. Angelina isn’t about that mom life (or even married life), as her relati...
