Peacock’s revival of MacGruber debuts in less than two weeks, and today the streamer has unveiled the official trailer. In the clip, Will Forte’s titular character is tasked with taking on a former foe in order to save the world from forces of evil. Having been imprisoned for the past 10 years, MacGruber is offered the option to serve out the rest of his life sentence or be granted a release in order to save the president’s kidnapped daughter. Agreeing to take on the suicide mission, he reunites his team of Vicki St. Elmo (Kristen Wiig) and Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe) in order to face an old foe. “After rotting in prison for over a decade, America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot MacGruber (Will Forte) is finally released,” reads the official logline. “His mission: to take down a mys...
With Matt Reeves’ The Batman set to arrive in a matter of months, Colin Farrell has signed on for an HBO Max spinoff series based on his character The Penguin. According to Variety, he has been tapped to both star in and executive produce the show. While the series will reportedly dive into Penguin’s rise to power in the Gotham criminal underworld, it’s not clear if it will be a direct follow-up or a prequel. We’ll have to wait until The Batman hits theaters on March 4th, 2022 to see if the character is already a villain or just beginning his descent. One of the most infamous members of Batman’s Rogues Gallery, the Penguin, aka Oswald Cobblepot, has a rich history of live-action portrayals. On the TV side, Burgess Meredith played the top-hat-and-monocle wearing baddie in the 1960...
Strangely, a mission that found The Challenge: All Stars players tumbling off of a 25-story building just rocketed underdogs Casey and Steve to the top of the game. And now that the competition’s unlikeliest victors have completely flipped the script on the Arena-nominations process, is Season 2 changed for good? Players prepared for the worst on the latest episode of the competition spinoff series as host TJ Lavin introduced each season’s most sadistic game: trivia. In this case, it was called “Bright Skies,” and if players answered a question incorrectly, they’d be yanked backwards off of a skyscraper’s roof and dropped 10 stories. But Steve and Casey, both previous Arena nominees, finally took control of their fates, and each earned their first individual wins…ever. “One of my goals com...

Pauly D’s words ring true: The potential Mrs. Guadagnino really could be in the building. Tonight’s Double Shot at Love found the remaining five ladies (sort of) face to face with Paola, Vinny’s mom, hoping to win her approval over a platter of baked ziti — chicken cutlets included (no, not that kind). “My mom will know if some of these ladies are not right for me, for sure,” Vinny said. “I mean, my mom knows me better than anybody. My mom knows me better than I know me.” After being grilled by chatting with the Guadagnino matriarch and making an impression on Uncle Nino, the women awaited their fate. The end result? Vinny said goodbye to both Danielle and KP. And then there were three. Read on as we br...
The tragedy which took place on the set of the indie film Rust is one that shook the industry, and while the horrific accident happened over a month ago, the truth of what occurred is still slowly coming out. Now, Alec Baldwin has stepped forward to give his version of events to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. Prior to the airing of Thursday’s interview, ABC News had teased the part of the conversation where Baldwin claims to have not pulled the trigger that day, saying that “No, no, no. I would never point a gun at anyone and pull a trigger at them. Never.” The full interview began with Baldwin explaining why he chose to sit down with Stephanopoulos in the first place, saying that while the investigation continues, “I really feel like I can’t wait for that process to end in February or March...
Here at Consequence, we’re not typically ones to bash a little recreational cannabis or Delta-8 use before a live music event. Seth Rogen, however, learned the hard way that if you choose to go that route, you might want to double-check that the event isn’t being taped for national television: As the comedian divulged during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night (December 1st), he arrived at a recent Adele concert, stoned and ready, only to discover that the show was being taped for the singer’s two-hour CBS special, Adele One Night Only. “I got an invitation — ‘do you want to go to a small Adele concert?’ is what I remember absorbing,” Rogen began. “[My wife Laurie and I] were like, ‘it’s an Adele concert! It’s in the park!’ We smoked a ton of weed,...
Phoebe Bridgers has seemingly been everywhere in indie rock circles since her monster 2020 album Punisher. This weekend, she’ll cross another achievement off her list: performing on Austin City Limits. The singer-songwriter taped a set for the legendary PBS program in October in between performances at the festival of the same name, and today, Consequence has an exclusive first look at the show. Watch Bridgers perform “Savior Complex” below. Though she ditched her famous skeleton onesie (her backing band kept the uniform, however), Bridgers’ live rendition of the Punisher ballad otherwise stayed true to the original, down to the quiet cry of violin and smoky trumpet solo. Her resigned tale of a doomed relationship fills the theater with her trademark bittersweetness, especially with i...
Rarely would a betting man put his money down on the oldest steed in the game, but on the latest episode of Spies, Lies and Allies, Chris Tamburello, a 41-year-old who first appeared on The Real World: Paris in 2003, proved he might just be the man to beat. But does he have what it takes to be the game’s first back-to-back winner in 15 seasons and nearly a decade? On the show’s latest episode, CT, the reigning Double Agents victor, considered that he was inching closer to adding a very particular footnote to his Challenge resume. For all of his achievements, and his standout performances in Spies, Lies and Allies, one feat still eluded him. “One thing I haven’t done is won two in a row,” CT said. “I think it’d be nice to add to the portfolio of Challenge achievements.” And CT proved he was...
Back in August, Kathy Griffin broke the news to fans that she had been diagnosed with stage one lung cancer, and that she’d be undergoing surgery. But a few months later, things are looking up for the comedian, who stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to update viewers that she’s now cancer-free. First, an energetic Griffin felt obligated to explain her voice, which jumped from her usual register to a breathy, raspy tone that she could only describe as “Minnie Mouse meets Marilyn Monroe.” “You’re not going to believe this,” Griffin began. “I’ve never smoked but I got lung cancer. And in August, I had half of my left lung removed. I’m not even kidding… It will heal, but I’m sort of enjoying it. I’m like, a two good octaves higher, I think. It’s higher than Mariah Carey — I know that.” Adverti...
The Pitch: Think back to what you were doing in the year 2005. It’s pretty unlikely that your life then was the same as it is now — different friends, different pop culture, different kinds of work keeping you busy. Maybe your then-toddler is now getting ready for college, or maybe you were yourself still basically a child. But since 2005, one thing remains constant: The gang behind It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia have continued to make their FXX show, and do it better than so many of the comedies out there today. The secret behind this pretty wild degree of success can be very easily attributed to the fact that the series has very deliberately, especially in the last five or so years, matured to a degree. Not that the gang running a crappy Philly bar has grown up — though several of the...
Carrie Bradshaw and company seem to have it all figured out in their 50s — at least that’s what the trailer for And Just Like That, HBO Max’s upcoming Sex and the City sequel series, will have you believe. The streaming platform shared the official trailer for the show today ahead of its premiere on December 9th. “The more I live, the more I find that if you have good friends in your corner, anything’s possible,” Sarah Jessica Parker says as Bradshaw at the beginning of the trailer. Soon enough, she’s joined by her own good friends, Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis), and the inspirational quotes keep coming. “And just like that, after all the years and all the changes, you’re still you.” According to HBO Max, across 10 half-hour ep...
