The Season 2 All Stars are embarking on “one more fight to set things right.” But before the Challenge legends get a “do over” beginning November 11– some haven’t competed in years and years — we’re remembering their MTV roots. That’s right: It’s the All Stars newbies’ original cast photos from deep in our archives — and here’s the returning players from Season 1, in case you missed it several months back. From Real World to Road Rules (and a bit of Fresh Meat), these images were the first taste of the young adults’ debut on the network. From posing in new real cities while living with seven strangers to hitting the road and soaking up the temporary locations, they all have the same fresh-faced energy. And ...

Second Challenge Chance: This Is How Darrell And Jonna Are Approaching All Stars Season 2

Two of the top All Stars final finishers are back on Season 2 — and this time, Darrell and Jonna are both going to have to “work harder and dig deeper” if they want to take home the $500,000 Challenge prize. Beginning with Darrell: The MTV veteran boasted a 4/4 finals Challenge record before All Stars; he nabbed first place on The Gauntlet, The Inferno, The Inferno II and Fresh Meat. But during the Season 1 final in Argentina, the Road Rules: Campus Crawl export had to accept second place to his fellow RR‘er Yes (he trailed the Semester at Sea alum) by two points. Now, Darrell is ready to take “the crown” on Season 2. So what is his strategy entering the unique game? “I’m doing me,” Darrell told MTV News. “I’m going to play ...

Courtney Love Raves About Use of Nirvana’s “Rape Me” In HBO’s Succession

If you, like seemingly everyone on Twitter, tuned in to the most recent episode of HBO‘s smash dramedy series Succession, you probably caught the perfect sync of Nirvana’s “Rape Me.” Of course, any music with Kurt Cobain’s name attached has to get the green light from his widow, Courtney Love. Thankfully, the Hole singer approved the use of the 1993 track and she went on to rave about its use in her Instagram story. “I was in the room watching (agog) as this song was written in about an hour, and I’ve never been so proud of approving one of Kurt’s songs,” Love wrote. “This cue in Succession is as if they truly understood KC. What he was screaming his heart out … without specifics … about. I’m sure wherever he is he’s proud of this. #rapeme #kurtdcobain #nirvana #disruption #myfavorite...

Is Spies‘ Emerald Cell The Strongest Challenge Team Ever?

If green is, indeed, the color of money, then The Challenge’s new powerhouse — Emerald Cell — is certainly doing its designated color justice and might be wise to prepare its bank account for a sizable deposit. Still, there’s a lot of game left to play, and anything can change, but is it possible Tori, Kaycee, Nany, Devin, Josh and Emanuel already rank among the best of the Challenge best? On tonight’s episode, all eyes were on the sixsome ahead of “Sunken Intelligence,” a mission that challenged each of the game’s three teams to untangle a huge, heavy rope that had been expertly threaded through a sunken ship. With three victories to its name, Emerald Cell had left Emerald and Ruby Cells shut out from wins, and they were determined to remain undefeated. And remain undefeated, they d...

The Simpsons Tease “Darker and Prestigier” Crime Thriller in Trailer for “A Serious Flanders”: Watch

Stupid, sexy Flanders is in some stupid, sexy trouble in the first trailer for The Simpsons‘ upcoming two-part episode “A Serious Flanders.” Part one airs November 7th, and part two follows on November 14th. This “Simpflix” production is an “Emmy-baiting crime drama,” according to the trailer, which promises something, “Darker and prestigier than anything you’ve ever seen.” Via Variety, it came about after The Simpsons executive producer Matt Selman finally got caught up on the TV adaption of Fargo. “We wanted to do all the tricks that these cool streaming shows get to do: Flashbacks, crazy time jumps, the feeling that anyone might die,” Selman said. “It’s all the tricks of the trade, for a semi-pretentious but also very cool kind of story. We have scenes...

Dexter: New Blood Can’t Quite Bring Its Madcap Antihero Back to Life: Review

The Pitch: Over a decade after the original series’… let’s say controversial finale, Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) has been living off the grid. Last we saw him, he was a lumberjack in the Pacific Northwest; now he’s packed up and moved to the sleepy, snowy upstate New York village of Iron Lake. He’s set himself up as Jim Lindsey, the unassuming town sweetheart, who mans the local hunting shop and brings cinnamon rolls to his customers. He’s even dating the town sheriff, Angela Bishop (Julia Jones), and has successfully tamped down the so-called Dark Passenger that drives him to kill. (Instead of his adoptive father Harry, it’s taken the shape of now-deceased sister Debra (Jennifer Carpenter), the devil in his ear who acts as his grim anti-conscience.) But naturally, Dexter: Ne...

A Mother’s Vow: Will Amber Commit To Being ‘Present’ For Leah On Teen Mom OG?

Amber chose not to attend Leah’s 12th birthday party last season on Teen Mom OG; the mother of two claimed she felt “a bit uneasy” going to her daughter’s hibachi-filled at-home celebration, while Leah did not feel comfortable with her mother’s idea to commemorate the occasion with a one-on-one get together. And during tonight’s episode, Amber expressed regret about how she handled that circumstance and vowed she needed to “show up” for her firstborn. But before Amber made the b-day-related admission to her producer David, she reflected on an on-camera visit with Leah, Gary, Kristina and Emilee. “With Leah, she was very off,” Amber rehashed. “But I already thought that was going to be that way,” she continued, while ad...

Carole Baskin Sues Netflix for Using Footage of Her In Tiger King 2

Chances are that during the early weeks of the pandemic, you spent more time with Carole Baskin than your best friends. But the big cat rights activist, who rose to national fame last year with Netflix‘s Tiger King, isn’t so keen on returning to the small screen: Baskin and her husband, Harold, are suing the streaming giant for using footage of her in the forthcoming sequel, Tiger King 2. According to Variety, the colorful couple filed suit in their Tampa hometown Monday (November 1st) against both Netflix and the show’s production company, Royal Goode Productions. In the documents, Baskin alleges that Royal Goode breached contract by continuing to use footage of her in Tiger King 2, as they had only legally agreed to appear in the docuseries’ first season. The Baskins also added that they...

Donald Glover’s Atlanta Will Return In 2022, A New Teaser Promises

The last time Atlanta aired a new episode on television, Drake’s “Nice for What” was the No. 1 song in the country. About a week later, Childish Gambino’s own “This Is America” took over that spot, and later went on to a successful and history-making night at the 2019 Grammys. That feels like a long, long time ago, and in a lot of ways, it was. Atlanta‘s Season 2 finale, “Crabs in a Barrel,” was broadcast on FX on May 10, 2018. A lot has happened since then. Most notably, show creator and star Donald Glover has appeared in major films for Disney (Solo: A Star Wars Story and The Lion King) and released another Gambino album called 3.15.20, while co-star Zazie Beats has helped anchor Joker and Deadpool 2, and Paper Boi himself, Brian Tyre...
