Kacey Musgraves has traded the Grand Ole Opry for Barclay’s Center as she made her debut at the Video Music Awards on Sunday night’s telecast. The country-music queen set the scene with the first-ever live performance of “Star-Crossed,” the title track off of her new studio album. Not only did she set the scene, but she also set the stage ablaze, singing on a candlelit stage, surrounded by glowing candelabras. Amazon Studios Is Developing a Live-Action She-Ra Series
She-Ra is going live-action. Amazon Studios is currently in the works on a new series on the superheroine based off Mattel’s Masters of the Universe franchise, Deadline reports. While this new She-Ra project is still in the very, very early stages — no screenwriter has been named yet — we do know it’ll be executive produced by DreamWorks Animation, the same team behind Netflix’s recent animated series reboot, She-Ra: Princess of Power. The original iteration of that series first began in 1985, with Filmation and toy giant Mattel collaborating on a spin-off of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. 2,977 people died in the World Trade Center attacks on September 11th, 2001, and Frasier co-creator David Angell was among the victims. Via Deadline, the show’s star Kelsey Grammer has recalled the moment he learned that his friend and coworker had perished, saying, “It is a day of loss that I always remember.” Frasier first met Angell when he joined Cheers as a staff writer in 1983, and the pair continued to collaborate until his death. On 9/11, Angell and his wife Lynn were traveling from Cape Cod to Los Angeles, when they boarded American Airlines flight 11 out of Boston. For 20 years, we’ve cringed and winced as the stars of Jackass brought the hurt on themselves. But how often have we thought about the damage they do to medical insurers? It turns out the number is almost as painful as the injuries themselves, as a new study has found that the main Jackass crew has racked up over $24 million in medical expenses over their careers. The study from Nova Legal Funding (via Complex) examined the 79 injuries incurred by six members of the Jackass team: Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Ehren McGhehey, Dave England, Jason ‘Wee-man’ Acuña, and Preston Lacy.
