Kevin Smith Flips the Script on Eternia with Masters of the Universe: Revelation: Review

The Pitch: Following directly from the original ’80s cartoon He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, the battle between He-Man (Chris Wood) and Skeletor (Mark Hamill) continues to rage over Eternia and the magical powers of Castle Grayskull. But in the wake of Eternia’s most devastating battle yet, the Power Sword is split in twain and the planet is fragmented, thrown into an anarchic wasteland without magic or hope. Without the power of He-Man to rely on, it’s up to Man-at-Arms’ daughter Teela (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and her cohorts — including old faces like Orko (Griffin Newman) and Moss-Man (Alan Oppenheimer), as well as new faces like Teela’s partner in crime Andra (Tiffany Smith) — to reforge the Sword and save the universe. Back to Battle-Cat Basics: At first blush, Kevin Smith...

Mila Kunis Persuaded Ashton Kutcher to Sell Ticket for Space Travel: “Not a Smart Family Decision”

Although we certainly can’t imagine why anyone would feel the urge to flee planet Earth at a time like this, outer space has been a hot commodity lately. Just last week, Virgin founder Richard Branson took a suborbital trip on Virgin Galactic’s space plane, making him the first billionaire to leave Earth aboard his own spacecraft. Ashton Kutcher was set to be one of the company’s first commercial passengers, but per the advice of his wife Mila Kunis, he sold his ticket. Via Cheddar News, Kutcher purchased a ticket in 2012 that granted him access to one of Virgin Galactic’s flights. But a lot can change in nine years that could affect a person’s decision to leave Earth. In 2015 the actor married Kunis — his That ‘70s Show co-star — and they now have two children together. “When I ...

Watch Swedish House Mafia Perform New Music Medley on Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show”

Stepping out of the murky shadows of an ambiguous nine-year hiatus, Swedish House Mafia made their first television appearance in over a decade last night. The legendary electronic music trio appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where they performed a medley of their two new songs, “Lifetime” and “It Gets Better.” They kicked off with the former, as Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello performed from their own DJ booths while illuminated in orange spheres—designed to mirror their distinct logo—alongside Ty Dolla $ign and 070 Shake. The performance of “It Gets Better” kicked it up a notch, offering a kaleidoscopic, eerie LED show that seems like a foreshadowing of the group’s live show production. &nb...

HBO’s The Last of Us Could Be One of the Most Expensive TV Shows in History

HBO is reportedly shelling out big bucks to put some extra pop in its apocalypse. The Last of Us, the upcoming TV adaptation of the blockbuster video game of the same name, purportedly “well exceeds the eight figure per episode mark,” which would make it among the most expensive TV shows ever made. There are a couple of ways to judge the most expensive shows, but no matter how you slice it, you’ll probably land on three names. For a total series, the current record is thought to be held by the 73 episodes of Game of Thrones, which started off around $10 per episode and by the final season was costing over $15 million per pop — a pretty penny, considering there are much cheaper ways to piss off your fans. If you want to know the most spent on a per episode basis, then look no...

Love Island 2021: 5 Clothing Brands the Bombshells Wear on Repeat

Fit boys, falling in love, and a gorgeous villa in Majorca — it’s not easy being a bombshell on Love Island 2021. And while we are on the edge of our seats to know who’s coupling up at the end of each episode, we’re equally curious about where all the gorgeous girls got their great summer outfits. You might be familiar with the ladies of Love Island wearing fashions from Pretty Little Thing and Oh Polly. But for the much-awaited seventh series, we were happily surprised with some new brands gracing the sizzling small screen. Zara is becoming a staple in the bombshell wardrobe with both Millie Court and Faye Winter wearing slinky slip dresses from the affordable high-street brand. We’re also keen about under-the-radar brand Farai London worn by Rachel Finni, which se...

Grimes, Alanis Morissette to Judge New Avatar Singing Competition Show Alter Ego

There’s a new singing competition show in town, albeit one unlike ever seen before on TV.  FOX upcoming series, Alter Ego — a.k.a. “the world’s first avatar singing competition series” — is slated to air this fall, featuring Grimes, Alanis Morissette, will.i.am., Nick Lachey, and Rosci Diaz as its judges. The first trailer for Taika Waititi’s new television series Reservation Dogs has arrived. Premiering August 9th on FX on Hulu, the comedy follows a group of four indigenous teenagers as they commit crimes in their rural Oklahoma hometown in an effort to move to California. “You’re the best thieves in town…It is a small town,” one grifter says to the teens after they successfully (and hilariously) make off with a food truck full of potato chips. Another tribal elder later tells them, “It’s easy to be bad; it’s hard to be a warrior…with dignity,” all while Santigold’s 2008 hit “Creator” booms on top of the clip. California’s upcoming election to recall Governor Gavin Newsom is a little less than two months away. Caitlyn Jenner, arguably the most famous person running to claim his throne, isn’t frantically trying to win over undecided voters in the final weeks before the election. Instead, she’s reportedly putting her gubernatorial campaign on pause to film Celebrity Big Brother in Australia. According to Vanity Fair, the former Olympian and Keeping Up with the Kardashians star landed in Sydney earlier this week and must quarantine for two weeks before shooting can start for the new season of Celebrity Big Brother. Representatives for the reality TV show have not yet confirmed Caitlyn Jenner is a cast member on the program, but a local Australian tabloid claims that she is and will be paid $372,500...

For fans of The Sopranos, the podcast Talking Sopranos has unveiled a number of interesting details about one of the country’s most beloved crime dramas. A recent episode alleges that HBO paid Tony Soprano himself, James Gandolfini, a cool $3 million so that he would turn down a role on the US version of The Office. The topic came up during a chat with co-hosts Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa and their guest, Ricky Gervais, who created the UK Office. Evidently, after Steve Carell departed The Office, NBC was scouring for their next regional manager of Dunder Mifflin. “You know, they talked about having Gandolfini at one point replace him,” Imperioli said. Schirripa explained that a few years after The Sopranos ended, NBC had offered Gandolfini $4 million for one season of The Of...

Tonight’s episode saw the MTV crew readjusting to life back in the Key after a lengthy private Palm Island getaway, during which they received a shocking “farewell” video from Chloe. The reason Chloe gave for her absence? “You can only place yourself in a toxic environment for so long until you have your breaking point,” she stated in the clip. But now she’s back — and possibly better than ever thanks to a month-long journey of self-realization. “I was focusing on myself,” Chloe privately told Amanda, who was glad to have her back. “But I’m learning now that I’m allowed to have fun, I’m allowed to enjoy...
