John Lithgow is reprising his role as the “Trinity Killer” for the upcoming revival of Dexter, according to Deadline. The return is described as “a short but decisive appearance,” with Deadline reporting the writers have “concocted a pathway for the Trinity Killer to come back that works within the larger Dexter narrative.” As such, Lithgow is only expected to film on the Los Angeles set for “a day or so.” In 2010, the now-75-year-old actor won an Emmy Award for his portrayal of Arthur Mitchell during Season 4 of the original series. Mitchell was a source of particular interest for Michael C. Hall’s titular character, appearing to show a path to balancing a family with a secret life as a serial killer. Dexter ultimately offed him during the season finale. Related Video Airing on Showt...
The late Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek was posthumously honored with the award for Outstanding Game Show Host at the 2021 Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday night. It marked Trebek’s eighth and final time winning the Emmy for Outstanding Game Show Host — only Price is Right host Bob Barker has more wins in the category at 14. Trebek also holds the record for most nominations in the category at 31. Trebek’s children, Matt and Emily, accepted tonight’s award on their father’s behalf. “For as long as we can remember, he was always so proud to be a part of Jeopardy!, to work on a show that was based on knowledge, risk and the challenge — people had to think,” Trebek’s son said. “He loved every bit of it.” Related Video “He was always excited to go to work even during his battle with cancer,”...
If you like to laugh, then boy do we have good news for you. Nathan Fielder, the comedian behind the fan favorite Nathan for You, has officially announced his new comedy series for HBO. It’s called The Rehearsal and it sees Fielder juggling duties as the director, writer, and lead star of the show. The Rehearsal is a half-hour comedy show that sounds like it will be in a similar vein to Nathan for You. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is “set in a world where nothing seems to ever work out as you had hoped and features Fielder giving people the opportunity to rehearse for their own lives.” Fielder made a name for himself with his ability to turn the mundane into perfect comedy, to convince strangers to do seemingly illogical things, and above all else to keep a straight...
After nearly three decades, Conan O’Brien’s tenure as the longest host in late-night history has come to a close. The final episode of Conan aired Thursday on TBS, serving as a fitting tribute to the comedian’s 28 years on the air. The episode opened with a Simpsons sketch in which an overly-excited Homer Simpson conducted O’Brien’s exit interview. While discussing the moments that stood out to them most throughout Conan history, Homer recalled a fairly vague interaction: “There was a time you had this actor on, and he was promoting a movie. And you asked him if there was any wacky stuff that happened on the set, so he told this mildly interesting anecdote,” he said with a laugh. When it came time for O’Brien’s last monologue, he reflected on the show’s 4,000-hour history, admittedly hesit...
After one of the longest, bloodiest runs in television history, the world of Supernatural is set to rise again. As Deadline reports, the new prequel The Winchesters will flesh out the mythology of John and Mary Winchester, parents of original heroes Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles). Supernatural proved to be unkillable on its 15 year run, and even when it concluded in November of 2020, the talent seemed confident in a return. “I do feel like this isn’t the long goodbye,” Ackles said last year. But only he could guess how short a sayonara it would be. Ackles will produce The Winchesters alongside his wife Danneel, who played the recurring angel Anael on the original. As his character Dean, he will also lend his voice to narration th...
There’s nothing like a few dirty martinis to help “clear the air”. Case in point: Snooki and Angelina finally burying the hatchet over the infamous wedding toast. First, it was Deena and JWOWW, and now tonight’s Jersey Shore: Family Vacation saw the original meatball herself inviting Angelina to lunch for a series of heartfelt apologies and clinking of the glasses — and the latter found herself somewhat surprised by the gesture. “Considering that Nicole went on her podcast and said that she’d rather chop off a limb than ever talk to me again or see me again, I kind of am a little shocked that [she] actually invited me to this lunch today,” Angelina confessed. Nicole was quick to cut to the chase and explained her own side of the...

Former child actor Drake Bell has pleaded guilty to felony attempted child endangerment and a misdemeanor charge of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. Bell, former star of Nickelodeon’s Drake and Josh, entered the guilty plea via Zoom in a Cleveland, Ohio court on Wednesday. According to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, Bell, 34, engaged in an inappropriate online relationship with an underage girl that, “at times, was sexual in nature.” Prosecutors say the girl, then 15, also attended Bell’s 2017 concert in Cleveland. The dissemination charge ties back to Bell’s online correspond...
Over the past few years, Nathan Pyle has become an internet sensation thanks to Strange Planet, his beloved webcomic series in which aliens describe everyday human things in otherwise oddball terms. Now, Pyle’s webcomics-turned-graphic novels are becoming an Apple TV+ show with help from Dan Harmon. According to Deadline, Pyle and Harmon will executive produce the new show together. When issuing a straight-to-series order for Strange Planet, the streaming giant also brought on Joe Pera Talks with You and Over the Garden Wall screenwriter Amalia Levari as a showrunner. Apple Studios and ShadowMachine, the animation studio behind Bojack Horseman, will produce the series as well. Pyle has two books to his name and still regularly posts comics online, but Strange Planet is by far his biggest s...
Before Loki even premiered on Disney+, a promo clip revealed Tom Hiddleston’s character is gender fluid. Now, in the latest episode of the limited series, the Asgardian’s sexual orientation has also been addressed: Loki is officially the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first openly bisexual character. Loki’s gender fluidity, something that’s canon in both Norse mythology and Marvel Comics history, was casually confirmed in a shot of a Time Variance Authority dossier on the time-displaced villain. His bisexuality, however, was a bit more explicitly stated. In Episode 3 of the show, which debuted today, Loki has a discussion with the antagonistic female variant of himself (Sophia Di Martino). When Loki mentions that he’s technically an Asgardian prince, his trickster counterpart asks if he’d eve...
Kail opened up about being diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) during tonight’s Teen Mom 2 episode. “I go through weeks and sometimes months doing the right thing, and I’m not dropping a single pound,” she stated in a diary cam pre-diagnosis. “I also have heavy periods, and then I can’t sleep. There’s just so many things I can’t control.” The changes in her body prompted her to seek medical attention. Blood tests and an ultrasound confirmed she had the hormonal disorder. “It’s been a rough little ride in this period of my life, but I want to get it under control,” the mother of four said on her Coffees Convos podcast with her co-host Lindsie. She then explained what women might experience if they have PCOS ...
When Ozark returns to Netflix with its fourth and final season, it will pick up right where it left off: with Killer Mike. Season 3 concluded with a needle drop on Run the Jewels’ “ooh La La”, and now one half of the rap duo is set to appear on Season 4. Billboard reports that Killer Mike has signed on for an undisclosed role in the hit streaming series. All that’s known about the cameo role is that it will find him crossing paths with Ruth Langmore (Emmy winner Julia Garner) “at her lowest point.” Said the RTJ member about joining the Ozark cast, “I went from waiting to find out what happens next to being part of it… I’m excited.” Related Video Concluding the story of the Byrde family’s entanglement with the criminal element of Osage Beach, Missouri, Season 4 of Ozark ...
