The Pitch: “You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain” as Harvey Dent said all those years ago. Well, the Mighty Ducks were never going to die, and they’ve since flipped the coin. Now, they’re the powerhouse team in the Twin Cities region, no different than Coach Reilly’s Hawks back in the early ’90s, and they’re in it to win it. That’s bad news for young Evan (Brady Noon), who’s cut from the Ducks for not being good enough. Seeing her son defeated and humiliated, Evan’s mother Alex (Lauren Graham) rallies around the kid to form a new team of underducks. Though, as we learned through three Mighty Ducks flicks, it takes more than skates and speeches to start flying together. Cobra Quack: It was only a matter of time before we’d see another franchise follo...
Last year, The Ellen DeGeneres Show came under massive scrutiny after allegations of a “toxic” work culture surfaced. WarnerMedia investigated the claims, Degeneres wrote a letter to her staff apologizing for her supposed ignorance, and three high-up executive producers “parted ways” for good. Following a multi-month hiatus, The Ellen DeGeneres Show has finally returned to TV only to discover that its viewership has taken a huge nosedive. Over 110 episodes have aired since Season 18 kicked off in September 2020, and Ellen DeGeneres has spent them interviewing the biggest names in pop culture, as is normal for the series. According to The New York Times, however, these new episodes have drawn an average of 1.5 million viewers over the past six months — a 43% drop compared to the 2.6 million...
George Segal, the veteran actor who starred in countless movies and TV shows including Just Shoot Me! and The Goldbergs, has died at 87. He passed away due to complications from bypass surgery in Santa Rosa, California, reports Variety. Born in Great Neck, New York in 1934 to a Jewish family, Segal quickly fell in love with acting after seeing Alan Ladd in This Gun for Hire when he was nine years old. He spent his free time playing banjo and watching movies in high school before leaving for Haverford College. Segal then earned his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College of Columbia University in 1955 and briefly served in the US Army. After landing a job as an understudy in a Broadway production of The Iceman Cometh, Segal started securing sporadic roles in a handful of ’60s TV shows and ca...

Jamie Foxx (photo via Ron Adar/Shutterstock) and Mike Tyson (photo via Leonard Zhukovsky/Shutterstock) Antonie Fuqua is getting into the ring with Jamie Foxx for an authorized limited series about heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson. The biographical drama has been in the works for over five years, originally intended as a feature film. Initially set at Paramount, Foxx’s passion project at various times had directors like Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached. The latter filmmaking legend has stuck around and will serve as executive producer on the limited series. News of Fuqua’s involvement and the shift to a TV format comes about a month after Hulu announced its own unauthorized Tyson story, Iron Mike, from the I, Tonya team. The controversial boxer called for a boycott of the st...
Silicon Valley actor Thomas Middleditch has been accused of sexual misconduct. In a report published by the Los Angeles Times, a woman named Hannah Harding detailed an incident that allegedly took place at the now-shuttered Hollywood club Cloak & Dagger on October 22nd, 2019. Harding accused the 39-year-old actor of making “lewd sexual overtures” toward her and her girlfriend. After she turned him down, he allegedly “kept pursuing her, groping her in front of her friends and several employees, including the club’s operations manager, Kate Morgan.” Morgan told The Times that she asked her bosses, co-founders Adam Bravin and Michael Patterson, to kick Middleditch out and ban him — to no avail. “I felt like they dismissed it,” she said. “I told Adam that he needed to listen...
Lucas Moura has insisted that the whole Tottenham squad are united behind under-fire boss Jose Mourinho amid the club’s turbulent 2020-21 campaign. Mourinho’s position in the Spurs dugout has been called into question in the wake of a nightmare week which saw the team follow up a north London derby defeat to Arsenal by exiting the Europa League in shocking fashion at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb. Spurs were thrashed 3-0 in the second leg of that last-16 tie in Croatia, but responded by beating Aston Villa 2-0 in the Premier League on Sunday, with Moura issuing a rallying cry in his post-match interview. “It’s been a very bad week for us, the feeling was very bad,” the Spurs winger told the Evening Standard : “Last night, we showed our nature, we showed attitude. “The good thing about footbal...
The MTV Floribama Shore roomies have fought over toothpaste, chicken and now, a blow dryer. But the beauty product-related spat, which unfolded during tonight’s brand-new episode, resulted in Gus bolting out the door — and sprinting from the cameras. What happened? After a week in Florida Montana, Candace was searching for her hair accessory and couldn’t locate it. Eventually, she found it in the guys’ bathroom and wanted to get to the bottom of her discovery. “Gus, did you steal my hair dryer?” she asked him, while he was working out. “I think so — it’s in our bathroom,” he innocently answered. But Candace wasn’t happy, to which Gus replied, “Codi’s been using it too. Don’t come at me like that.” ...

HBO is developing three additional Game of Thrones spinoffs, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Two of the prequels have the working titles of 9 Voyages and 10,000 Ships, respectively. 9 Voyages is centered around Lord Corlys Velaryon, a.k.a. The Sea Snake, the Lord of the Tides and head of House Velaryon. Velaryon also appears in the previously announced House of the Dragon, in which he’s played by Steve Toussaint. 10,000 Ships is about warrior queen Princess Nymeria, an ancestor of House Martell who founded the kingdom of Dorne. Two characters in the original series, Sand Snake Nymeria Sand and Arya’s direwolf, bore her name. Her story is set roughly 1,000 years before Game of Thrones, so it takes place way before the Westeros timeline than any of the other previously announc...
The Pitch: In the wake of the blip and the events of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon (Anthony Mackie), has settled into a modest life of crimefighting with his signature wingsuit. Why isn’t he the new Captain America?, eagle-eyed Endgame viewers might be asking; after all, Old Cap handed him the signature star-spangled shield the last time we saw him. Well, Sam feels uncomfortable with the weight and responsibility of the title — it feels “like someone else’s.” Meanwhile, former Winter Soldier Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) is wrestling with his own post-terrorist trauma, struggling to reintegrate into society after ninety years of cryogenically-frozen evildoing. But the two might get drawn back into each other’s orbits with the arrival of a mysterious flash mob...
If the cheese stands alone, call Double Agents favorite Big T a blue-ribbon camembert. The Brit-bred Challenge star — who’s defied expectations across Season 36 — is now the game’s only competitor without a Gold Skull. But now that she’s got her old partner back, will she finally have a chance to earn her own? And, more importantly, can she trust CT — who burned her big time — to get her back into The Crater? On the most recent Double Agents episode, teams dove into the deep unknown in “Undercover,” which challenged them to submerge themselves into some of Iceland’s clearest (and coldest) waters, collect a series of coded rings between two tectonic plates and use the rings to solve a puzzle once back ashore. For some competitors — like CT — it was a struggle. Though he and Kam were one of ...
