The Laguna Beach Cast Just Had Its Very First Reunion

Lauren Conrad told us back in 2004, “This is where it all happened: Laguna Beach, California.” And now, the SoCal gal — and her group of pals from the picturesque small town in the OC — just came together 16 years (!) after their MTV debut. They aren’t dunzo with each other! The crew is coming clean reunited after several cast members (Lauren, Stephen Colletti, Trey Phillips and Dieter Schmitz) partnered with #GoodToVote and HeadCount to help boost voter registration efforts before the 2020 election. The goal was for 500 people to check their voter registration status for everyone to get a first-ever LB reunion — and more than 20 times their goal participated! So Lauren, Stephen, Trey, Dieter, Kristin Cavallari, Loren Polster, Lo Bosworth, Talan Torriero...

Eric Andre’s Viral Stunt with John Cena Landed Him in the Hospital

The Eric Andre Show is full of unpredictable moments and painful-looking surprises. According to comedian and host Eric Andre, a lot of those surprises actually hurt. Case and point: the most recent sneak preview of Season 5 captured John Cena hurling Andre into a shelf — a viral stunt that landed him in the hospital. Andre explained the whole saga during his recent stop on Jimmy Kimmel Live. When asked by Kimmel — who once was a former guest on his show — if being thrown by Cena hurt, Andre confirmed the obvious, though he absolved the WWE superstar of any blame. “John Cena did the stunt right, but we prepped for the stunt wrong,” he said. “That metal shelf came over and clocked me in the head and I got concussed.” Without wasting a second, Andre was immediately taken to the hospital to m...

Quibi Is Shutting Down After Only Six Months

Quibi, the short-form mobile streaming service that launched this April, is shutting itself down just six months after launching. According to The Wall Street Journal, Quibi Holdings LLC has decided to end the short-form content experiment in the face of lower-than-expected viewership, the threat of legal action, and a litany of other issues. Founder Jeffrey Katzenberg and CEO Meg Whitman reportedly told investors of their decision the kill Quibi on a conference call Wednesday afternoon. It’s hard to point to one singular reason as the cause of Quibi’s demise. After raising $1.75 billion, the platform spent dozens of millions on promotion, notably by buying multiple TV ad slots during the Super Bowl and the Oscars. They offered a free 90-day trial early on, but statistics reveal the app wa...

Tegan and Sara’s High School Memoir Being Developed into TV Series

Last fall, indie pop duo Tegan and Sara released their first-ever memoir, High School. That book is now being adapted into a TV series by filmmaker and actress Clea DuVall. High School traced the origins of the Calgary-born Quin sisters, from their days spent raving in the’90s to their current status as both pop music and LGBTQ icons. The forthcoming coming-of-age comedy, also dubbed High School, follows suit. A longer synopsis from Deadline reads: “Through a backdrop of ’90s grunge and rave culture, the series tangles itself in the parallel and discordant memories of two sisters growing up down the hall from one another. This is a story about finding your own identity — a journey made even more complicated when you have a twin whose own struggle and self-discovery so closely mim...

Move over Mando, there’s a new Lucasfilm property coming to Disney+. The streaming platform has ordered a sequel series to the 1988 classic epic Willow. After confirming the project was “very active” over the summer, he’s officially set to return as executive producer. Star Warwick Davis is also back, reprising his beloved title role. Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians) will helm the pilot, which was written by Jonathan Kasdan (Solo: A Star Wars Story). The latter will also serve as showrunner alongside Wendy Mericle (Arrow). The John Oliver Memorial Sewer Plant Opens with Shitty Speech from John Oliver: Watch

It’s a shitty dream come true: After months of trading insults with Mayor Mark Boughton, John Oliver traveled to Danbury, Connecticut for the christening of John Oliver Memorial Sewer Plant On his HBO talk show Last Week Tonight, Oliver has been mocking Danbury for months — “for no reason,” as he said — to the point where “To Danbury something up” became shorthand for making a mess of everything. But tensions escalated in August, when Oliver offered to personally beat up all the residents of Danbury. He said, “I know exactly three things about Danbury. USA Today ranked it the second-best city to live in in 2015, it was once the center of the American hat industry, and if you’re from there, you have a standing invite to come get a thrashing from John Oliver — children included — f...

Famed Kazakh journalist Borat Sagdiyev presents his latest moviefilm this Friday, October 23rd. In anticipation, Borat appeared alongside his daughter, Sandra Jessica Parker Sagdiyev, on Monday night’s edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live. However, before Borat could proceed with the interview, he first needed to ensure that the “coward” virus had not already infected Kimmel’s studio. After smashing the virus with a large cooking plan, Borat then turned his focus to Kimmel himself. “I do not feel comfortable starting this interview until I have done basic questionnaire to make sure you are safe.” Questions included: “In the last week, have you been in the presence for more than 15 minutes of any Jews?”, “As member of Hollywood elite, have you recently drunk any unpasteurized children’s blood?”, Wh...

Dexter Showrunner on Upcoming Revival: “A Great Opportunity to Write a Second Finale”

Showtime announced last week that a limited series revival of Dexter was on the way. Now, further details on Dexter Morgan’s comeback have been revealed by original showrunner Clyde Phillips, who is returning for the revival’s 10 episodes. The Dexter revival is set to pick up where the TV series left off, but in such a way that redeems the disappointing eighth and last season. If you’ll recall (spoiler), the beloved crime drama wrapped up with Dexter faking his own death in dramatic fashion so that he could live life as a secret lumberjack in Oregon. That finale episode left many longtime viewers scratching their heads or downright disgruntled. As Uproxx and NME point out, Phillips doesn’t plan to rewrite or reimagine that series finale with some kind of cop-out “it was all a dre...
