Maddie’s baby shower is supposed to be an event to celebrate the 16 and pregnant teenager. But in a sneak peek of the upcoming episode, below, there is already drama surrounding the bash — and the festivities have yet to even begin. “Korey’s family can’t make it because I invited them at the last minute,” Maddie discloses about her baby daddy’s clan. “But it might be better because our families haven’t met, and there’s still tension between them.” She continues: “Even though my mom doesn’t want Korey to show up until the end of the party, he wants to be included. I decided he should be able to stay as long as he wants.” But Maddie’s mom Crystal isn’t on board with the plan. What does she have to...
Move over Mando, there’s a new Lucasfilm property coming to Disney+. The streaming platform has ordered a sequel series to the 1988 classic epic Willow. The original film’s director, Ron Howard, has been teasing at a Willow follow-up for over a year. After confirming the project was “very active” over the summer, he’s officially set to return as executive producer. Star Warwick Davis is also back, reprising his beloved title role. Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians) will helm the pilot, which was written by Jonathan Kasdan (Solo: A Star Wars Story). The latter will also serve as showrunner alongside Wendy Mericle (Arrow). Howard called the show “a creative lean-forward” as opposed to “a nostalgic throwback,” something Davis said he’s thrilled to be a part of. “Many have told me they grew up wit...
It’s a shitty dream come true: After months of trading insults with Mayor Mark Boughton, John Oliver traveled to Danbury, Connecticut for the christening of John Oliver Memorial Sewer Plant On his HBO talk show Last Week Tonight, Oliver has been mocking Danbury for months — “for no reason,” as he said — to the point where “To Danbury something up” became shorthand for making a mess of everything. But tensions escalated in August, when Oliver offered to personally beat up all the residents of Danbury. He said, “I know exactly three things about Danbury. USA Today ranked it the second-best city to live in in 2015, it was once the center of the American hat industry, and if you’re from there, you have a standing invite to come get a thrashing from John Oliver — children included — f...
Famed Kazakh journalist Borat Sagdiyev presents his latest moviefilm this Friday, October 23rd. In anticipation, Borat appeared alongside his daughter, Sandra Jessica Parker Sagdiyev, on Monday night’s edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live. However, before Borat could proceed with the interview, he first needed to ensure that the “coward” virus had not already infected Kimmel’s studio. After smashing the virus with a large cooking plan, Borat then turned his focus to Kimmel himself. “I do not feel comfortable starting this interview until I have done basic questionnaire to make sure you are safe.” Questions included: “In the last week, have you been in the presence for more than 15 minutes of any Jews?”, “As member of Hollywood elite, have you recently drunk any unpasteurized children’s blood?”, Wh...
On the heels of Zendaya’s Best Actress win at the Emmys, HBO has announced two special bonus episodes of Euphoria. The first, titled “Trouble Don’t Last Always”, will air on HBO and stream on HBO Max beginning December 6th. According to a plot synopsis provided by HBO, the episode takes place during Christmas, in the aftermath of Zendaya’s Roe being left by Jules at the train station and relapsing. Series creator Sam Levinson wrote and directed the episode. The title and premiere date of the second episode are forthcoming. Both specials were produced under COVID-19 guidelines. Euphoria wrapped up its first season in August 2019. Due to the pandemic, production on Season 2 was postponed until early 2021, so HBO is hoping these bonus episodes will tide fans over in the meantime. Last month, ...
Showtime announced last week that a limited series revival of Dexter was on the way. Now, further details on Dexter Morgan’s comeback have been revealed by original showrunner Clyde Phillips, who is returning for the revival’s 10 episodes. The Dexter revival is set to pick up where the TV series left off, but in such a way that redeems the disappointing eighth and last season. If you’ll recall (spoiler), the beloved crime drama wrapped up with Dexter faking his own death in dramatic fashion so that he could live life as a secret lumberjack in Oregon. That finale episode left many longtime viewers scratching their heads or downright disgruntled. As Uproxx and NME point out, Phillips doesn’t plan to rewrite or reimagine that series finale with some kind of cop-out “it was all a dre...
Remember the days when MTV was the home of music videos? Looking to bring back that kind of programming, Apple has now launched its own free, 24-hour music video channel. Simply called Apple Music TV, the nonstop livestream promises “exclusive new music videos and premiers, special curated music video blocks, and live shows and events as well as chart countdowns and guests,” according to a statement via Variety. One such countdown — the Top 100 most-streamed songs on Apple Music — was the focus of today’s kick-off event. During its inaugural week, Apple Music TV will also celebrate Bruce Springsteen and his new album, Letter to You, with “an all day Bruce takeover” on Thursday, October 22nd. In addition to popular music videos from The Boss, the channel will air a special livestream f...
All of those sentimental life lessons from Home Improvement clearly went over the head of star Zachery Ty Bryan. As TMZ reports, the 39-year-old was arrested in Eugene, Oregon on Friday night for allegedly strangling his girlfriend. According to a police report, neighbors called Eugene police after they heard Bryan and his girlfriend fighting in their apartment complex. Upon arrival, they found Bryan sitting outside his apartment with his girlfriend at a nearby friend’s residence. Bryan’s girlfriend told Eugene PD that he had put his arms around her throat and squeezed. She also reported that Bryan tried to take her phone away after trying to call the cops and before she ultimately escape to safety. Eugene PD booked Bryan on three charges: strangulation, fourth-degree assault, and interfer...
What was big, exciting entertainment news just a month or so ago has already become routine tedium: Jim Carrey played presidential candidate Joe Biden on Saturday Night Live. For the third week in a row, the blockbuster comic returned to Studio 8H, where Issa-Rae hosted the festivities. Three sketches into his run, however, and it’s hard to find anyone who appears to be enjoying his antics. (Then again, social media presents a comically skewed demographic of people who more or less despise Saturday Night Live, but feel compelled to provide running commentary anyway. Come to think of it, that’s likely how a lot of SNL writers probably feel about the presidential election.) This week’s endless cold open–under 15 minutes, but, as with last week’s, feeling closer to a full hour–toggled between...
HBO has been tight-lipped about whether their recent adaptation of Stephen King’s The Outsider would be coming back for a Season 2. Well, the loquacious King shares no such compunctions, and in a recent interview with EW he confirmed that “there’s going to be a second season of The Outsider as soon as they can get the production going.” The news came in a conversation about King’s beloved character Holly Gibney. She leads one of the novellas that make up the new collection If It Bleeds, and plays a big part in both The Outsider as well as the TV adaptation of Mr. Mercedes, which just migrated from the defunct Audience Network to Peacock. King was excited about Holly’s arc on The Outsider, though he didn’t think it would lead into the e...
The evolution of Nine Inch Nails’ 1994 song “Hurt” could warrant an entire oral history. As a slow-burning album closer that later became a staple of Johnny Cash’s repertoire, the song is a piece of music history with plenty of backstory — and now, Trent Reznor will finally explain how “Hurt” came to be for an upcoming episode of Song Exploder, the hit podcast-turned-TV series on Netflix. Earlier today, Netflix announced that Season 2 of Song Exploder will premiere worldwide on December 15th. The Killers, Dua Lipa, and Natalia Lafourcade are a few of the artists scheduled to appear in the next volume. It’s the inclusion of Reznor discussing “Hurt”, though, that feels like the biggest score of all for both fans and Hrishikesh Hirway, the host and executive producer of the show. “I first int...
