Willow Sequel Series Officially Coming to Disney+
Move over Mando, there’s a new Lucasfilm property coming to Disney+. The streaming platform has ordered a sequel series to the 1988 classic epic Willow. The original film’s director, Ron Howard, has been teasing at a Willow follow-up for over a year. After confirming the project was “very active” over the summer, he’s officially set to return as executive producer. Star Warwick Davis is also back, reprising his beloved title role. Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians) will helm the pilot, which was written by Jonathan Kasdan (Solo: A Star Wars Story). The latter will also serve as showrunner alongside Wendy Mericle (Arrow). HBO Announces Two Bonus Episodes of Euphoria, Including Christmas Special
On the heels of Zendaya’s Best Actress win at the Emmys, HBO has announced two special bonus episodes of Euphoria. The first, titled “Trouble Don’t Last Always”, will air on HBO and stream on HBO Max beginning December 6th. According to a plot synopsis provided by HBO, the episode takes place during Christmas, in the aftermath of Zendaya’s Roe being left by Jules at the train station and relapsing. Series creator Sam Levinson wrote and directed the episode. The title and premiere date of the second episode are forthcoming. Both specials were produced under COVID-19 guidelines. Euphoria wrapped up its first season in August 2019. Showtime announced last week that a limited series revival of Dexter was on the way. Now, further details on Dexter Morgan’s comeback have been revealed by original showrunner Clyde Phillips, who is returning for the revival’s 10 episodes. The Dexter revival is set to pick up where the TV series left off, but in such a way that redeems the disappointing eighth and last season. If you’ll recall (spoiler), the beloved crime drama wrapped up with Dexter faking his own death in dramatic fashion so that he could live life as a secret lumberjack in Oregon. Apple Launches Free, 24-Hour Music Video Channel
Remember the days when MTV was the home of music videos? Looking to bring back that kind of programming, Apple has now launched its own free, 24-hour music video channel. Simply called Apple Music TV, the nonstop livestream promises “exclusive new music videos and premiers, special curated music video blocks, and live shows and events as well as chart countdowns and guests,” according to a statement via Variety. One such countdown — the Top 100 most-streamed songs on Apple Music — was the focus of today’s kick-off event. All of those sentimental life lessons from Home Improvement clearly went over the head of star Zachery Ty Bryan. As TMZ reports, the 39-year-old was arrested in Eugene, Oregon on Friday night for allegedly strangling his girlfriend. According to a police report, neighbors called Eugene police after they heard Bryan and his girlfriend fighting in their apartment complex. Upon arrival, they found Bryan sitting outside his apartment with his girlfriend at a nearby friend’s residence. Bryan’s girlfriend told Eugene PD that he had put his arms around her throat and squeezed. She also reported that Bryan tried to take her phone away after trying to call the cops and before she ultimately escape to safety.
