BTS Inspired A ‘Huge K-pop Song’ In Darren Criss’s New Show Royalties
By Sam Manzella Darren Criss is a huge fan of K-pop, and he doesn’t care who knows. In a recent interview with MTV in which he detailed his top musical inspirations, the Assassination of Gianni Versace star revealed he frequently turns to K-pop greats like BTS and Blackpink for inspiration. In fact, there’s actually a “huge K-pop song” featured in Royalties, his new comedy series from Quibi satirizing the world of songwriting. “There’s this just sort of outrageousness and just in your face-ness to those songs, which are always really cool and sophisticated,” Criss told MTV. Beavis and Butt-Head Are Returning With New Episodes
New episodes of Beavis and Butt-Head are coming to Comedy Central. Mike Judge is resurrecting his beloved Gen X cartoon as part of a new deal with the cable network. In addition to two new seasons of Beavis and Butt-Head, the deal calls for spin-offs and specials, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on adult animation at Comedy Central,” Chris McCarthy, head of ViacomCBS’ entertainment and youth group, said in a statement. “Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world light-years from their own.” In his own statement, Judge joked, “It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again...

Mythbusters Host Adam Savage Accused of Sexually Abusing His Sister
Mythbusters co-host Adam Savage has been accused of “repeatedly” sexually abusing his own sister. In a lawsuit filed in New York, sister Miranda Pacchiana alleged that Savage sexually assaulted her “repeatedly over the course of several years.” According to a lengthy post on her blog, The Second Wound, the abuse began when he was just nine years old and she was only seven. “As a child, this experience shook my sense of safety and crushed my self-confidence,” Pacchiana, a writer and social worker, recounted. “For decades afterward, I dealt with periods of depression and near-constant anxiety. R.I.P. Johnny Mandel, Composer of the M*A*S*H Theme Song Dies At 94
Johnny Mandel, the Oscar and Grammy-winning composer who wrote the M*A*S*H theme song , has died at the age of 94. According to The New York Times, Mandel’s daughter Marissa confirmed that he passed away on Monday (June 29th) at his home in Ojai, California. Mandel was born in New York City on November 23rd, 1925. His father was a garment manufacturer and his mother was an opera singer who noticed early on that her son had perfect pitch. After picking up trumpet and trombone as a child, Mandel would go on to study at both the Manhattan School of Music and New York’s esteemed Juilliard School. Hulu Pulls Episode of The Golden Girls Over Blackface Concerns
The Golden Girls is the latest piece of NBC-related pop culture to go under the knife. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hulu has removed a 1988 episode that finds Betty White and Rue McClanahan being mistaken for wearing blackface. The episode in question is “Mixed Feelings” from Season 3 and finds the son of Dorothy (Beatrice Arthur) planning to wed an older Black woman named Lorraine (Rosalind Cash). The Boys Season 2 Premiere Date Announced, First Three Minutes Revealed: Watch
Amazon Prime has announced the Season 2 premiere of The Boys. The superhero deconstruction from Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Eric Kripke returns September 4th with three new episodes. Future episodes will then be released weekly through October 9th. The release date was announced during a virtual reunion of the show’s cast hosted by Patton Oswalt, who joins the new season as Tek Knight, a superhero who can only fly in space.
