US Fed Chair says cryptocurrencies aren’t a danger to country’s financial stability

While speaking at a press conference after the recent Fed interest rate decision, the Fed Chair Jerome Powell said that cryptocurrencies are currently not a danger to the country’s financial stability. He however noted that there should focus should shift to monitoring and controlling cryptocurrencies. Jerome Powell has served as the Federal Reserve Chair since 2018 and is likely to serve for a second term following a positive backing by President Joe Biden. Powell and his vice chair Lael Brainard have shown enthusiasm on ensuring that cryptocurrencies do not cause financial instability. Tyson Fury has insisted that he still intends to fight Anthony Joshua this year despite committing to a trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder in July. Taraba governor advises Nigerian government on state police

Gov. Darius Ishaku of Taraba has advised the Federal Government to try state police in addressing the security challenges in the country. Ishaku gave the advice in his remarks at a world news conference organised by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the party national secretariat in Abuja, on Monday. The conference also featured Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Enyinaya Abaribe, and former president of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki. According to Gov. Police nab five for stealing N55 million cocoa export consignment

The Nigeria Police Force, NPF, has arrested five persons, Lawal Abiola; Afeez Rasaq; Akeem Gbolahan; Idowu Jelili and Safiriyu Oyebanji over alleged involvement in the stealing of a 40-foot container of Cocoa worth N55 million meant for export to the United States of America, USA. The five suspects were alleged to have connived to steal the consignment that was contracted to one Kolawale Idowu of No. 3 Olawumi Academic Zone, Ibadan, on December 17, 2020. Enugu community lament over dilapidated school classes

Residents of Aguobia-Nomeh, a community in Enugu state have expressed concern over the dilapidated conditions of the Community Secondary School. The school in Aguobia is a public junior and senior secondary located in Aguobia-Nomeh in Nkanu East local government area of Enugu State. Residents have on several occasion lamented the chronic state of the Community Secondary School calling for urgent repairs of the school class rooms but all efforts yielded no result.
