Source: WENN/Avalon / WENN Even though 2020 has largely been a mess there have been some moments that have provided the masses endless joy. One image from Will Smith this summer has unintentionally grown into a pop culture phenomenon. Spotted on TMZ, Smith has added another honor to his already impressive trophy case. This week he and his family were given the Robin Williams Legacy of Laughter Award for their “longstanding contributions to the world.” As COVID-19 continues to stick around, the Smith clan accepted the nod from the comforts of their home. The video finds each member detailing their favorite Robin Williams movie. Will’s feedback is far from your normal acceptance speech as he touched on the infamous meme of him from the Red Table Talk episode where Jada revealed her...
Source: Al Pereira / Getty Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff took a tour of the mansion featured on the legendary sit-com show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and it’s a far cry from how it was portrayed when it first debuted in our livingrooms 30 years ago. The video clip shows to the two hip-hop legends standing in front of the white doorway Jazzy Jeff was frequently thrown out of by Uncle Phil (first things first, R.I.P.) throughout the show’s series. However, when they walked into the home, the decor couldn’t be further away from the posh white-and-beige livingroom set that fans have come to know. Instead, it’s reminiscent of the poolhouse Will and Carlton shared when they moved out of the main residence on the show. [embedded content] The pad is decorated with graffiti ...
Now this is a story all about how you could end up staying in a nostalgia dream pad. Will Smith has listed the Los Angeles mansion used for exterior shots of his Fresh Prince of Bel-Air home for rental on Airbnb. The chance to sit on Big Willie’s throne comes as the classic sitcom celebrates its 30th anniversary — and a night’s stay will only cost you $30. That will get you a private wing of the mansion, what would have been Will’s section had the Fresh Prince actually been filmed inside. While the rest of the home will be empty, you’ll have access to a king-size bedroom, a full bathroom, the pool area, an outdoor lounge space, and a dining room. Guests will be able to play basketball in the bedroom (“you read that right — IN the bedroom,” Smith confirms on the listing), spin DJ Jazzy...

Smith confirmed the much-needed goodness with a picture of the two actors face-to-face for the first time in 27 years. In the photo, they can be seen sharing a laugh during a conversation. In the caption for the post, he wrote: “Today is exactly 30 YEARS since The @FreshPrince of Bel-Air debuted! So we’re doin’ something for y’all… a for real Banks Family Reunion is comin’ soon to @HBOmax! RIP James....

Now this is a story all about how HBO Max got flipped-turned upside down. As Variety reports, the cast of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is celebrating the show’s 30th anniversary with an unscripted reunion special. Created by Susan and Andy Borowitz (yes, that Any Borowitz), Fresh Prince debuted on September 10th, 1990, and ran for 148 episodes over six seasons. The new special is scheduled to tape this September 10th, on the exact date of the 30th anniversary. No air date has been set, although it’s expected sometime around Thanksgiving. The Prince himself is back, as Will Smith is going to honor his role as the character of [checks notes] William Smith. Also making appearances are Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks), Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Kary...
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is getting a remake. As Deadline reports, Paramount Pictures has commissioned a modern update of John Hughes’ 1987 holiday classic with stars Will Smith and Kevin Hart in the lead. Brooklyn 99 and Woke writer Aeysha Carr will pen the script and make her feature film screenwriting debut. Not surprisingly, both Smith and Hart will also serve as producers on the project via Westbrook Studios and Hartbeat Productions, respectively. The original film starred Steve Martin and the late John Candy as two unlikely bedfellows who are forced to rely on each other as they find a way home before the Thanksgiving holiday. At the center of it all is a gooey heart beating with teary drama. Whether or nor this remake will similarly bring us to tears remains to be seen. The j...
Source: Raymond Boyd / Getty The Fresh Prince is coming back to TV, but with a completely new spin. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is returning to television but instead of being a sitcom, the new series will be a drama based on a viral fan-made reimagining created by Morgan Cooper. Will Smith reportedly loved the idea so much that he and Cooper are teaming to adapt the latter’s dramatic reimagining of the former’s beloved NBC comedy The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, with the reboot titled, Bel-Air. Described as a dramatic take on the beloved ’90s comedy that catapulted Smith to stardom, Bel-Air will dive deeper into the inherent conflicts, emotions, and biases of what it means to be a Black man in America today, while still delivering the swa...
“Cool.” “Riveting.” “Gripping.” “High-Octane Thrill Ride!” All cliches of film criticism and yet all feelings we’ve experienced while watching a crackerjack summer blockbuster. Oops, there we go again. All things considered, any moviegoer can speak to the divine feeling of sitting in a cool, packed theater in the heat of the summer and being united by narrative. Not just united, but hypnotized, mentally convinced that the fate of the world is before your eyes, and there is nothing more important in that very moment. It’s escapism. It’s popcorn. It’s Chinatown. But also, it’s the power of spectacle. Over the years, Hollywood has certainly run that concept through the ringer, having turned what used to be a summer blockbuster season into, well, an entire calendar year. Now, all those aforeme...
Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Tory Lanez is not here for August Alsina‘s loose lips and decided to let him know on record. On Saturday (July 11), Lanez decided to drop his new song inspired by Jada Pinkett’s now-infamous Red Table Talk interview with husband, Will Smith, discussing the then rumored “entanglement” with singer August Alsina. After the jokes began to fly, Tory Lanez weighed in sharing his remix to Lil Baby and 42 Dugg’s “We Paid”, Lanez made sure to announce where his allegiance lies, calling out the Forever and a Day singer for “snitching” about the affair. “Let me start f*ckin’ on Jada, I ain’t gon’ snitch like August,” Tory raps on the beat. “Look at her face like Will…” While he may be sending shots on behalf of the Smiths’ matriarch, on Friday (July 10,) the “I Luv T...
