The highly anticipated anime film trilogy for Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway is currently in a transitional phase as the franchise prepares for the release of its second installment. To bridge the long gap between the first film and its sequel – premiering January 30, 2026 – the first Hathaway film is now set to receive an episodic TV version, airing on TV Tokyo and its affiliates starting January 6, 2026.

Directed by Shūkō Murase and featuring music by Hiroyuki Sawano, the trilogy maintains a high-quality production standard. The first  Hathaway film is being recut into an episodic television format, airing ahead of the highly anticipated second installment of the trilogy. This strategic episodic release is timed directly ahead of the long-awaited second film, Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe. The new installment will continue the complex human drama, exploring Hathaway Noa’s struggle between his mission with the anti‑Earth Federation group MAFTY, as well we his unresolved feelings for Gigi Andalucia. With most of the original cast and staff returning, the episodic release of the first film serves both as a refresher and a bridge to the next chapter in this ambitious space opera trilogy.
