The Hybrid Porsche 911 Turbo S Is a New Kind of Fast

Summary

  • Porsche has released a new hybrid 911 Turbo S, the most powerful production 911 ever
  • It features a T-Hybrid system with 701 horsepower
  • The car can accelerate to 60 mph in just 2.4 seconds

Porsche has officially electrified its most powerful street car. In a move that signals the future of performance, the legendary automaker has unveiled the new 911 Turbo S, and it’s a hybrid. This groundbreaking new model, which blends a twin-turbo 3.6-liter flat-six engine with a “T-Hybrid” electric motor, is the most powerful production 911 to date, delivering a jaw-dropping 701 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.

The result of this innovative T-Hybrid system is a car that redefines what a sports car is capable of. The new 911 Turbo S can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.4 seconds, a full two-tenths of a second faster than its predecessor. This isn’t just about straight-line speed; the new model has also shaved 14 seconds off its Nürburgring lap time, showcasing its enhanced agility and stability.

To handle the extra power and the additional weight of the new system, Porsche has implemented a number of key upgrades. The new Turbo S features the largest carbon-ceramic brake system ever installed on a 911, along with wider rear tires for improved grip. Active aerodynamics, including cooling flaps and an adjustable rear wing, ensure the car remains stable at its top speed of 200 mph.

With a starting price of $270,300 USD for the coupe and $284,300 USD for the cabriolet, the new 911 Turbo S is available to order now, with the first deliveries expected in Spring 2026. This is not just a car, but a monumental leap in technology, proving that electrification and performance can go hand-in-hand.
