The New Music Friday Drops We Added to Our Playlist

The last Latto project we’ll ever be blessed with stamped this week’s New Music Friday. Centered around Big Mama, this week’s additions to the May playlist include return singles from Syd, Ravyn Lenae, BB Trickz, and 070 Shake. Big week for the girls, indeed. For the final New Musiic Friday of the month, everything we added to this month’s playlist below.

Latto – Big Mama

Big Mama is back – but not for long. Latto’s final album, Big Mama, is out now and comes with features from GloRilla, Doja Cat, 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, Mariah The Scientist, Odeal, Wizkid, Teyana Taylor, and Jelly Roll across its 17-track lineup.

Freddie Gibbs – RBT

The best surprises take the shape of Freddie Gibbs projects. This one’s a three-pack named RBT, equipped with three high-octane solo tracks.

070 Shake – “Baby Driver”

070 Shake has shared her first new music of the year. Lifted from the PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS video game soundtrack comes Shake’s second post-Petrichor offering, “Baby Driver.”

Blood Orange – “Essex_Honey.mp3”

Paired with new tour dates comes Dev Hyne’s first Blood Orange release since Essex Honey, entitled “Essex_Honey.mp3.”

Quadeca – “Dark Magic”

“Dark Magic” marks the beginning of Quadeca‘s new era. For his first solo single since Vanisher, Horizon Scraper, the musician begins to usher in a new sound that swerves far from that of its predecessor.

Chxrry – U, Me & My Ego

Chxrry has asserted herself as a force to be reckoned with, and on her first-ever album, she cements that sentiment. U, Me, & My Ego is an impressive longform debut bolstered by appearances from Mariah the Scientist and Cash Cobain.

Julia Wolf – “Deep End”

The namesake behind the Deep End World Tour has materialized. Julia Wolf unveiled her new single “Deep End” this week, just about two months ahead of her headlining run of shows.

BB Trickz – “a la mala”

BB Trickz is entering her rockstar era. Landing as her second single of 2026 is “a la mala,” complemented by a high-speed, Bonnie & Clyde-inspired music video.

Syd x Blu june – “Callin’”

Syd‘s first solo album in over four years is officially en route, preceded by the official lead single “Callin” featuring Blu june. Entitled Beard, the project is described as a “coming of age,” and will feature Raphael Saadiq, Big Sean, Rodney Jerkins, James Fauntleroy, Van Hunt, and Jordan Ward. It drops on July 17.

Amie Blu – “trees for the woods”

A play on the phrase “wood for the trees,” arrives Amie Blu’s new single “trees for the woods.” “i found it funny and ‘trees for the woods’ sounded better for the song so I kept it as I had heard it,” she said in a statement, the song about hindsight.

Ravyn Lenae – “Handle”

We’re also getting a new Ravyn Lenae album this summer. Blue Island is due out on August 7, but this week Lenae lifted the veil on the rollout with lead single “Handle.”

Future x Tyla – “Game Time”

Another solid single stemming from the FIFA World Cup 2026 soundtrack. Following up ANITTA, LISA, and REMA‘s “GOALS,” is another display of impeccable teamwork coming from Future and Tyla on “Game Time.”

Monaleo x Teezo Touchdown – “Everything Pinka”

The collaboration we didn’t know we needed but now cannot live without: Monaleo and Teezo Touchdown on “Everything Pinka.”
