They Might Be Giants have released their new song, “Outside Brain,” the latest single from their upcoming album, The World Is to Dig. Stream it below.

In a press release, vocalist John Flansburgh said “Outside Brain” is about “mania panic.” He added that the song is “as much about the feelings of those twisted emotions as it is about any real storytelling in the lyrics. I was trying to capture that nightmare fear of being chased or running away from something.”
Pre-orders for The World Is to Dig are available ahead of its release on April 14th. The band will support the album with their 2026 “The Bigger Show Tour,” which includes multi-night stands in Brooklyn, Chicago, and Boston. Look for deals or get tickets to sold-out shows here.
