Tom Holland has unveiled his new Spidey suit for his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in next year’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day. After teasing the look on August 1st (officially recognized as Spider-Man Day to mark the characters 1962 debut), a video showing Holland in the full costume — sans mask — has now been shared.
With bright blue accents and a large spider insignia on the chest, the Spider-Man: Brand New Day suit appears much closer to the character’s classic comic book duds than seen in previous MCU entries. In the film series, Peter Parker gets an advanced suit from mentor Tony Stark pretty much right off the bat. The suit got upgraded throughout his appearances, culminating in the “Iron Spider” look in Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, No Way Home ended with Spidey returning to an unknown quantity with a homemade outfit, and that looks to be carrying over to the new film.
It’s worth noting that the previously released closeup teaser shows raised webbing, a look popularized by Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire’s iconic take on the hero in the original trilogy.

More Spider-news also broke this week when it was revealed that Mark Ruffalo would be reprising his MCU role as the Hulk in Brand New Day. What’s more, Michael Mando (Better Call Saul) will reportedly be returning for the first time since 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. In that movie, he played Mac Gargan, whom comic fans know well as the villain Scorpion.
It’s safe to say Spider-Man will have his hands full with no only these two, but Jon Bernthal’s the Punisher as well, as the fan-favorite actor was recently confirmed for the movie. (Bernthal returned to the MCU in the Daredevil: Born Again Disney+ series and is currently filming his own Marvel Special Presentation.)
And that could be far from all our hero will have to face. The “Brand New Day” comic storyline centers on Peter Parker making a deal with Mephisto (essentially Marvel’s Devil) to bring Aunt May back to life and make everyone forget he’s Spider-Man, creating a new status quo and an end to his marriage with Mary Jane. Of course, May (Marisa Tomei) does die in No Way Home, which also ends with Doctor Strange wiping the world’s memory of Peter. Mephisto recently entered the MCU as played by Sacha Baron Cohen in the Ironheart series. All that’s to say the stage is certainly set for more than Spider-Man’s suit to be comic accurate this time around.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings) with a script by Spider-Man stalwarts Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to open July 31st, 2026. It is the fourth Marvel and Sony co-run Spider-production following Homecoming, 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, and 2021’s No Way Home. It will mark the second film in the MCU’s Phase Six, following Fantastic Four: First Steps, and arrive six months before Avengers: Doomsday.
