Universal Pictures is preparing for a massive summer blockbuster season with the official trailer drop for Disclosure Day. Created and directed by legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg, the highly anticipated original event film promises to explore the monumental and terrifying implications of humanity officially discovering that we are not alone in the universe.
Teasing a tense and atmospheric narrative, the first look asks audiences a chilling question: “If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you?” Grounded in the concept that the truth of extraterrestrial life belongs to all seven billion people on Earth, the movie centers around a global revelation event. The project reunites Spielberg with longtime collaborator David Koepp, the acclaimed screenwriter behind massive franchise hits like Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds, who penned the script based on an original story by Spielberg himself.
Bringing the sci-fi epic to life is a powerhouse ensemble cast. The film stars Academy Award nominee Emily Blunt alongside Emmy winner Josh O’Connor, Oscar winner Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and two-time Oscar nominee Colman Domingo. Produced by Amblin Entertainment alongside five-time Academy Award nominee Kristie Macosko Krieger and Spielberg, the cinematic event marks the top-grossing director’s highly anticipated return to the blockbuster sci-fi genre following his critically acclaimed 2022 semi-autobiographical drama, The Fabelmans.
Disclosure Day drops June 12, 2026 via theaters.
