The live-action adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s acclaimed one-shot manga, Look Back, has revealed its first teaser video, offering audiences a glimpse into the poignant story ahead of its 2026 release.

Directed, scripted and edited by Hirokazu Kore-eda, the film captures the emotional bond between Fujino and Kyomoto, two aspiring manga artists whose contrasting personalities are united by their shared passion for drawing. The teaser highlights key imagery from the manga, including scenes of the girls sketching together across changing seasons, underscored by music composed by Yūta Bandō (Kaiju No. 8). This marks Kore-eda’s first collaboration with Fujimoto’s work, following the earlier announcement.

Slated for a theatrical release in Japan in late 2026, the project marks a significant collaboration between the visionary storytelling of Fujimoto and the delicate, humanistic direction of the Palme d’Or-winning Kore-eda.
