Tame Impala Reveal New Single “End of Summer”

Tame Impala Reveal New Single "End of Summer"

Tame Impala have returned with a new song, “End of Summer,” marking the comeback release from Kevin Park’s ever-evolving project.

The new single was teased on social media earlier this week with a short video clip featuring a couple making out next to a motorcycle. While they’re in the throes of passion, someone walks up and speeds off on the bike. The caption on the post: “Clear 7 minutes on your schedule.” Meanwhile, the band’s official website shared a countdown clock to the track’s release.

“End of Summer” is possibly the first single from Tame Impala’s long-awaited fifth studio album, which would mark their first since 2020’s The Slow Rush. Parker hinted at a new album earlier this month with a social media post highlighting what looked to be a recording progress chart, with 13 songs checked off and marked “done.”

Parker slyly debuted the track last month during a surprise DJ set at Barcelona venue Nitsa Club following an official Tame Impala DJ set at Primavera Sound.

Leading up to the song’s release, Parker joined Dua Lipa onstage during her show in Sydney, Australia, to perform “The Less I Know the Better.” In February, he snagged his first Grammy, winning the Best Dance/Electronic Recording category for Justice collaboration, “Neverender.”
