Limp Bizkit put a chart-topping musician’s name in the title of their new single, and it paid off with some chart-topping of their own. The nu-metal band’s recently released song “Making Love to Morgan Wallen” has landed at No. 1 on multiple Billboard charts.
According to Billboard, the single garnered 2.6 million US streams and 639,000 radio audience impressions, while selling 2,000 downloads in the week ending September 18th. Those numbers have propelled the tune to the top of the current Hot Hard Rock Songs, Alternative Digital Song Sales, and Hard Rock Digital Song Sales charts — marking the first time Limp Bizkit have hit No. 1 on any of those tallies. In fact, the only other time a Limp Bizkit song topped a Billboard songs chart was when “Re-Arranged” ruled the Alternative Airplay tally in 1999.
As of now, “Making Love to Morgan Wallen” stands as a one-off single, with no new album announcement from frontman Fred Durst and company. The band’s last full-length was 2021’s Still Sucks, which marked Bizkit’s first album in 10 years.
