From Sony Pictures Animation, the studio responsible for the critically acclaimed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and the unique artistry of KPop Demon Hunters, comes the first teaser trailer for GOAT, an original animated sports action-comedy.
The film is both starred in and produced by NBA icon Stephen Curry, who is collaborating through his Unanimous Media banner to bring this inspiring underdog story to the screen. Set in an all-animal world, the film focuses on Will, a diminutive goat with immense aspirations who is given a rare chance to compete professionally in roarball, a fictional, high-intensity, co-ed, full-contact sport traditionally dominated by the largest and fiercest animals. The central conflict of the plot revolves around Will’s determined effort to revolutionize the sport and overcome the skepticism of his new, larger teammates, with the message that “smalls can ball.”
The project is directed by Tyree Dillihay and features a star-studded voice cast that includes Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things) as the determined lead, Will, and NBA star Stephen Curry in his first major voice-acting role, as Lenny Williamson, a supportive giraffe teammate. They are joined by a versatile ensemble including Gabrielle Union, David Harbour, Jenifer Lewis, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll and Jennifer Hudson. With its creative pedigree from the Spider-Verse artists and a narrative advised by former NBA player Andre Iguodala, GOAT promises a blend of dynamic animation and authentic sports action. The film is scheduled for release in theaters on February 13, 2026.
