Dave Chappelle has dropped a surprise new standup special called Dave Chappelle: The Unstoppable… on Netflix. Recorded in his hometown of Washington, DC, back in October, the 75-minute special includes commentary on the National Guard’s deployment in the nation’s capital, Jimmy Kimmel’s show being pulled off the air by ABC under pressure from the FCC, Charlie Kirk’s murder, Sean Combs’ downfall, and more.
The comedian also addressed his controversial decision to appear at the Riyadh Comedy Festival in Saudi Arabia earlier this year.
“I don’t feel guilty at all,” Chappelle said of his gig in Saudi Arabia. “These motherfuckers act like I somehow portrayed my principals. Rest in peace, Jamal Khashoggi. I’m sorry that he got murdered in such a heinous fashion. I mean, look, bro, Israel’s killed 240 journalists in the last three months, so I didn’t know y’all was still counting.”

Chappelle continued: “This guy who [Brendan] Carr who runs the FCC, he had the nerve to say that Kimmel, if he wanted to get back on television… he had to pay Charlie Kirk’s Turning Points USA Foundation money to get back on. Think about that: Elon Musk bought the election for Trump because the Supreme Court said money was free speech. But if they make [Kimmel] pay money for some shit he doesn’t believe in, they are compelling him to say something he does not mean…. I’ll take money from Saudi Arabia any day just so I can say ‘no’ over here. It feels good to be free. And I know the people in Saudi Arabia can’t say all the things I can say, but a deal’s a deal and the king said I could say these things. I looked at it like I was on a diplomatic mission: I got to bring pussy jokes to the Middle East.” (Editor’s Note: Carr did not actually suggest Kimmel donate to Turning Point USA; that was request made by head of the Sinclair.)
On the topic of Charlie Kirk, Chappelle said: “I’ll tell you what I don’t believe, and the whites were quick to say this: Charlie Kirk was this generation’s Martin Luther King.”
That’s a reach,” he continued. “They both got murdered in a terrible fashion. They both got shot in the neck, but that’s about where those similarities ended.”
“Charlie Kirk’s an internet personality — by design. Fundamentally, he can’t function like Dr. King. Internet n*ggas are negative because they have to be. No one will engage them unless they say shit unless that makes them upset. Can you image if Dr. King was behaving like Charlie Kirk? ‘Smash that like button and subscribe! Follow me for more content like that! I believe all Black people should be free, change my mind!’”
Dave Chappelle: The Unstoppable… can be streamed in full on Netflix.
