Refused Wrap Up Farewell Tour with Final Show Ever

Refused Wrap Up Farewell Tour with Final Show Ever

Legendary hardcore band Refused played their final show ever in their hometown of Umeå, Sweden, on Sunday, wrapping up their farewell tour.

The band played a 21-song set at the venue Väven, including eight tunes from their iconic 1998 album The Shape of Punk to Come. Frontman Dennis Lyxzén and company closed out the show with their signature song, “New Noise.”

The concert was available to watch worldwide via a paid livestream, and a replay can still be purchased for those who missed the show.

Lyxzén took to social media after the show, writing, “The weekend is over and it’s been overwhelming to say the least. I need a couple of days to process everything and I will post more on the matter. But for now: thanks to everyone that came to the shows, or watch the live stream or just made all of this possible. I love you all. Refused is dead. Long live Refused.”

Refused announced their impending breakup at the end of last year, and then proceeded to embark on a farewell tour throughout 2025. In September, they revealed that they were forming a new band with the same members, and last month three of the four Refused members announced the debut album from a different project, Backengrillen.
