
David Bowie’s wife, Iman, marked the 10th anniversary of her husband’s passing on Saturday by getting a tattoo of the artwork from his final album, ★ (Blackstar).
Iman shared a video on Instagram of herself getting the tattoo. In the accompanying caption, she wrote, “Jan. 10th. The pain didn’t vanish.. It left in its place a loving permanent mark. #BowieForever.”
Jonathan Barnbrook, who designed the artwork for David Bowie’s final album Blackstar, explained its meaning in a past interview with Dezeen: “This was a man who was facing his own mortality.
