When Pluribus Season 1 ended, it did so with a nuclear-level cliffhanger. What comes next… Won’t be revealed anytime soon. At an Apple TV press day, creator Vince Gilligan confirmed that the writers are currently “deep into the process” of developing the new season, but “it takes a long time to come up with these episodes.”
Gilligan said that he “wished” it would be possible for the show to come back sooner, contrasting it to the way that The X-Files (on which he served as an executive producer) would return at the same time each year during its original network run in the 1990s. Pluribus, he added, might come back “maybe the same month… It’s just a matter of what year.” He then thanked the audience for their patience.
