J.K. Rowling, Armie Hammer, Mel Gibson Blame Tourette’s for Their Behavior in SNL Sketch

J.K. Rowling, Armie Hammer, Mel Gibson Blame Tourette's for Their Behavior in SNL Sketch

In a cut-for-time sketch from this weekend’s episode, SNL imagined Mel Gibson, Armie Hammer, Bill Cosby, J.K. Rowling, Louis C.K., and Kanye West in a celebrity-filled testimony that blamed Tourette’s syndrome for their problematic pasts.

“Not many people know this, but one of the most common side effects of Tourette’s is cannibalism,” explained Hammer (who was portrayed by host Connor Storrie). Added Rowling (played by Ashley Padilla),  “Tourette’s isn’t just blurting out an offensive word. It can be years-long obsession with something like trans life.”

The sketch was of course a nod to last week’s BAFTA Awards, where Tourette’s advocate John Davidson’s involuntarily yelled a racial slur as Delroy Lindo and Michael B. Jordan presented.
