BTS supported their brand new album ARIRANG with a performance of “SWIM” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, taped at New York’s historic Guggenheim Museum.
The performance, which was taped in secret on Wednesday morning for a select group of 150 fans (no phones were allowed), find BTS ringing in their new era in the museum’s main lobby and its striking, multi-story spiral.
The band also sat for a conversation with Fallon, marking as their first late-night interview since the release of ARIRANG. They broke down the meaning of songs like “SWIM, “2.0,” and “NORMAL”; discussed what they missed about each other while serving in the military; recording ARIRANG; previewed their upcoming world tour.

They also answered fan questions (including what songs they would recommend to new fans), and they surprised some unsuspecting members of BTS ARMY.

BTS’ appearance on Fallon follows their earlier New York stop, where the band performed a special mini set and answered fan questions for a Spotify event. They also rang in the release of ARIRANG with a massive performance at Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square on Saturday, which drew 104,000 fans and was simultaneously streamed on Netflix.
